Amazon.com Product Reviews
With so many other hassles to worry about, a gate should be worry-free and easy. Using the simplicity-by-design approach, the Evenflo SimpleStep pressure gate makes cordoning off stairways and rooms easy as cake. The pressure-mounted gate takes 20 minutes to install with no tools needed and is much easier than its wall-anchored counterparts. Once you install the gate, the most difficult part is over. The walk through door employs a squeeze, slide, and swing action that can be done with one hand. The red/green gate indicator tells you when the gate is properly locked. Be sure to measure your doorways before purchasing--the Evenflo gate is made for either 29-inch or 39.5-inch (with the included extension panel) openings, and the pressure mounts give you a tiny bit of slack. The Evenflo SimpleStep pressure gate is 30.5 inches in height, and the manufacturer recommended age use for children is six months to two years. --Scott Teal

With the one-hand Slide-Loc mechanism, you simply squeeze the handle and slide back to open. | Easy to Use and Install The Evenflo SimpleStep Pressure Gate is a sturdy, lightweight metal gate in a neutral color that blends in with any décor. It is 30 inches tall and expands from 29 inches to 39-1/2 inches with the included extension panel. Featuring a a pressure-mounting system, the gate is designed for quick and easy installation: no tools, no permanent hardware to damage your walls. The pressure-mounting system also allows for more versatile installation at stairway banisters or other unusual openings. The gate is just as easy to use as it is to install. It easily opens with a special one-handed "Slide-Loc" mechanism: simply squeeze and slide the handle to open the gate. The gate also swings open, making it much easier for baby-toting parents to use. It then latches shut with a simple push. Super Safety Features The Evenflo SimpleStep Pressure Gate's red/green indicator shows whether the gate is properly locked, to give you additional peace of mind. Its slats are less than three inches apart, which is the recommended spacing for safety. To maximize the gate's safety features, make sure it is installed less than three inches from the floor. It is also recommended for use at the bottom of stairways only; the top of the stairway should be cordoned with a hardware-mounted gate.

Loudest baby gate ever November 25, 2008 ebook reader This is a great pressure gate for the two year old that can climb or open any gate. We bought this becase our son is an escape artist. There is no way he can open it. The problem is we put it on his bedroom door. There is no way to sneak in or out because the latch is so incredibly loud. Other than that, I would still recommend the gate.
EASY TO INSTALL; GREAT FOR OUR DOG November 20, 2008 Yolanda (Anaheim, Ca) We had been looking for a gate like this since we got our new puppy Tonka. I was pretty lucky to find it at my local thrift store brand new for $18...great price! It is easy to install and I don't understand how people think it's hard to install. We, too, thought that there was something missing from the pressure bolts that go on the side. Once you fit the gate in the doorway, you have to screw it to where it applies pressure to the wall. I can see where the confusion would be, but coming from someone who doesn't know a thing about handy work, it was pretty easy to figure out. It's the perfect size for our puppy (he's a Staffordshire Bull Terrier) and he won't be able to jump over it since he'll only get to about 16 inches tall. We highly recommend this gate and it seems very sturdy!
Excellent gate for jumping puppy November 8, 2008 Phil Caminini (Clifton Park, NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Great product and easy to install. I have a 40 lb, 5 month old lab that was jumping on my old suction cup, baby gate. This product has withstood him jumping and bumping on it. I highly recommend it for dog owners looking for something to use to contain their dog.
Great gate! November 1, 2008 Amy George This gate was super easy to install, and works great! My 6 and 7 year old boys have no problems using it - it's easy to open and close.
Dont buy this gate October 17, 2008 Maxentius (Louisiana, USA) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I cannot install this gate. The Instructions are as clear as mud. The instructions ay there is an installation video online but when you go to thier website, there is no such video. Im stunned that there are a bunch or reviews that say it is easy to install
