4 out of 5 stars not too bad for what its worth   November 17, 2008

i bought this mobile after reading about how these types of patterns help infant brain development. its pretty cheaply made and with a little creativity and time you can make one yourself. my baby came before i got around to actually making one so i opted to just buy one. my infant is 2 months and she LOVES this thing. LOVES is actually an understatement but im trying to convey how important this mobile is to her by emphasizing the "love". we have it rigged to her swing and even when her swing isn't in motion she giggles and coos at it for a long time...meaning more than a few minutes. and for those of us with colicky babies a few minutes IS a long time. i have a love hate relationship with the pictures though, while great and interchangeable, only a few of the pictures can go on the bottom. meaning there are a lot of the pictures baby cannot see because they can only go on the top. also, it would be great if it moved, i twist it up sometimes so it moves and my baby loves that. all in all, its not bad for what its worth and with a little rigging it can be the greatest thing to your baby.

4 out of 5 stars Good deal   November 16, 2008

This mobile wasn't as cheaply made as I thought it was going to be. Some people wrote reviews that the cards were very poor quality. The cards are made of very pliable shiny plastic. The mobile was easy to assemble and very adjustable, so I can change the height or position very easily. For what it cost, I think it's a very good deal. I also really liked that the colours are vibrant instead of the boring pastels that so many baby products come in.

4 out of 5 stars Changing table toy   November 8, 2008
T. Baker (SF, CA)

Our daughter enjoyed this toy immensely when she was about 4 weeks to 4 months. It hands nicely over the changing table and keeps her entertained. It was fun to see her determine her favorite images and move from preferring the colored version to colored version. The bummer about this product is how difficult it is to change the cards. Also, the pictures make it look like there are so many alternatives for them to view. In fact, the cards only go together a certain way, so they get bored quickly. My daughter preferred this over a noise making mobile, however, this product is a nice to have.

5 out of 5 stars My baby loves this mobile!   November 1, 2008

I never write reviews but I felt like I needed to review this item because my baby loves it so much. I ordered this mobile because I wanted a mobile for my changing table. The mobile did not look very impressive to me but there weren't many mobiles that I could get to work with my changing table.

This mobile does not look great but my baby absolutely loves it. It was the first thing she smiled and cooed at. She loves being on the changing table because of this mobile. If she's crying when I put her on it she stops. She also often cries for a moment when I take her off. This was a great purchase

2 out of 5 stars Great idea--POOR quality   October 11, 2008
Rice eater (Baltimore, MD)

As an ophthalmologist, I can attest to the functional utility of this product. Newborns truly are drawn to high contrast patterns--but this product is so poorly made I would not recommend it. The plastic cards are badly made--3 of them were broken straight out of the box such that I had to use tape to put them back together. In addition, the holes in the card to attach to the main apparatus are inconsistent so that some fit too loosely and are easily knocked off while others are so tight I can't get them attached. If motivated, you could probably make your own sturdier mobile--the patterns are available online.
