The soft glow also serves as a night light. |
Project the night sky in your child's bedroom for a magical, tranquil sleep. View larger. | | Artful, Soothing and Educational The winner of several industry awards, including the Editor's Choice blue ribbon from Baby Talk, each Twilight Turtle is individually hand painted for a unique, artful look that complements any nursery or children's room. Plush and soft, with a sturdy plastic shell, this nightlight is best placed on the floor in the center of the room, where it projects a starry night sky onto the ceiling and walls. For interactive fun, parents can also sit with their children and identify and describe the features of eight major constellations, including the Big Dipper and the Big Bear, with the help of the beautifully illustrated Star Guide. The Twilight Turtle also includes a warm-hearted story about how Twilight Turtle, separated from his father, uses the constellations to find his way home. User-Friendly Operation Simply pressing the button on the turtle's shell ignites the stars and keeps them glowing for a full 45 minutes--just enough time for most children to drift into sleep. At this point, the Twilight Turtle automatically shuts off to preserve battery life. Another push of the button reactivates the projection. In addition, the easy selection of the three soothing color choices allows your child not only to learn to identify different colors, but also to truly experience them as well. Amber radiates warmth and peace; green creates a healing and renewing atmosphere; and blue helps calm the senses. The soft, illuminating glow the Twilight Turtle emits also serves as a nightlight that makes the darkness less frightening. Makes a Great Gift A great gift for children who are afraid of the dark, or even adults who have trouble falling asleep, the Twilight Turtle runs on three "AAA" batteries (included). It also comes with a certification of adoption, and measures a compact 14.0 x 5.0 inches (WxH), so it's easy to display and store. Lifesaver for sleep deprived parents! November 23, 2008 S. Gilbert (New York) Our 4 year old son used to wake up every night at 1 and 5, and couldn't go back to sleep unless one of us sat on his bed with him. He saw this turtle in a magazine and BEGGED to have it. I was skeptical, but his grandmother went ahead and got it. From the first night, he has stayed in his room the whole night! When he wakes up in the middle of the night, he turns on the comforting turtle's light, which can be changed to amber yellow, blue, or green. It works beautifully in my kids' small room, with a low celing, but I think it looks good in other bigger rooms we tried. My kids LOVE the stars; it really calms them. My husband and I think its so romantic, too! Added bonus is how the light shuts off automatically after 45 min. This product is a MUST if your kid is scared of the dark.
Love the idea, but product isn't all that November 22, 2008 Kimberly Denoy (Louisiana, USA) When my daughter was born, I searched high and low for this turtle, ignoring bad reviews on the internet. I wanted to see it myself, and finally found it at a kid's boutique when my daughter was a few months old. True, no one has a tall dresser in the middle of a room, which would be the most desired place for this product to sit for it to work as intended. Still, it could be placed on a high book case and the stars will light up the wall and be faint on the ceiling. Green and blue lights work best. Amber can hardly be seen. When the batteries went out, I bought some and discovered that the batteries that came with the turtle (included as a "TRY ME" advantage) had corroded. They really didn't last long, and I figured that was why. Needless to say, new batteries didn't help. I wrote the comany and was told if I could find my receipt, and provided the turtle wasn't more than 90 days old, they would be happy to send me a new one if I paid for shipping. I didn't have a reciept and the turtle was more than a few months old. Point blank, if a company wants to market this as a high end child product, they should be more wary of customer complaints. Even with the weak lights and the bad reviews, I thought this was cute enough to be buying for every new baby out there. Now I will warn people against it. For the 30 dollar price tag, you'd be much better buying a glo-worm. My daughter's still works and she's thrown it and banged it against her crib. The "hand-painted" twilight turtle was never in her hands and thanks to the ridiculous company policy, she will never enjoy it.
Awesome Nightlight Option for the nursery November 18, 2008 Mom to Ace (Texas) I love this product and so does my 3 month old. He does better at night with a light on and this gives enought light to do the job. I love the stars and moon on the ceiling and think he does too
Wonderful gift November 17, 2008 Tammy Mccauley (Media, PA) I have a 4 yr old who adores this item. he can turn it on if he wakes up during the night for comfort. It also shuts itself off in 30 minutes. I recently gave this as a gift to a 3 yr old and he would not put it down. It makes him look forward to bedtime. I would gladly recommend this to anyone.
Good Turtle November 17, 2008 Medic Diver (Rockford, IL USA) Turtle is Great for the kids, just a little cheaper quality than I expected for the price. Plastic shell is kinda flimsy. Lights work well, and have two modes.
