Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
If you are looking for unique and different names, this is your one-stop resource. Some of the names will roll off your tongue, some bounce, some even tap dance. The author encourages us to, "Try thinking of a name as a dash of color that you give to the world; a way to leave your mark, like an elaborate scarf wound through auburn hair or a periwinkle, paisley tie that everyone admires." With over 1000 names, complete with usage examples, readers seeking a non-traditional first or middle name can bet there won't be five others in the class bearing the same name.

5 out of 5 stars You've got a winner   September 27, 2006

Reviewed by Susan Pettrone for Reader Views (9/06)

When you find you are expecting one of the first things that comes to mind is "what will we name this bundle of joy?!?" Author Daniel David shows some seemingly simple words and how we can use them to create an unusual name for our little one. He lists words we may never have dreamed of, such as Creole and Lilac, names which when used in the usual sense certainly seem ordinary enough, but when used as proper names, are viewed in a whole new light. Or, perhaps you would like to pay tribute to travel when you choose a name. How about Venice, Panama, Nile, or even Bombay?!? According to the author, the possibilities are endless when it comes to unique and interesting names for your child to be. I would wholeheartedly recommend this book for anyone who is tired of "Dick," "Jane" and "Sally" and who would like to place their child's name among those that teachers remember and colleagues never forget. And remember this...no name is off limits, the only rule is that you like it. If you can say that, then you've got a winner...just like this book!

these names were way too weird. It's one thing to name your pets strange things but quite another to name a child something this strange.

Definitely do not recommend.
