5 out of 5 stars Great product!   November 19, 2008

My stepdaughter loves to sit in the play yard with her toys and plays for hours. It provides her safety and is comfortable enough for her to take a nap.

1 out of 5 stars This should only be used for temporary traveling!   October 22, 2008

After one year use of this playpen at home, I must say I can not believe this hasn't been recalled yet. As soon as I opened the package I noticed a LOT of things wrong with it. But we couldn't complain, we were short on money and on a tight budget. My model is Cosco Juvenile Model 05010 TCT.

This review emphasizes on the "TCT" model of those playards. If you have that exact model PLEASE READ.

1. I was surprised that as soon as we assembled it my 2 year old boy could lift the sides of the bottom pad at will. And store toys, bottles, and any item he would get a hold of. One time I even discovered him trying to crawl underneath. I understand other models of the 05010 have a couple of more velcro straps, mine only has ONE on each side.

2. Because it has wheels (I see this model has wheels) my 2 year old boy would rock until the playpen slid on the smooth floor on our dinning room, toward the table (yes a full 3 feet) and grab dangerous things from the dinning room table. If you have carpet floors there is no problem, but if you are using this playpen in smooth floors watch out!

3. The mat at the bottom has practically no padding. And the cloth material; although almost water proof and easy to wipe, is VERY uncomfortable for baby to sleep on, and often would make him sweat more in extremely hot days.

4. Because it is so small (yes this playpen is tiny) when child stretches in the vertical position he can cause sides to stretch. Eventually my son broke the cloth of this just by stretching.

5. And Wow! Don't be fooled by the size! This playpen weights a ton! Almost impossible for a mom to lift one side to tilt it and clean it. In that sense I don't even think this playpen is good for traveling. I have seen BIGGER playpens that weight less than this (Graco Pack N'Play 4 colors)

6. Cleaning this playpen is a pain. My toddler would often shove things under the mat so if the bottle spilt on the bottom cloth I had to disassemble the whole thing, and one day I was so frustrated I put it underneath the shower!

7. Another travel slowdown is that this playpen is extremely hard to disassemble! I needed my husband to do it every time.

8. The 4 white sides have a "V" shape (triangular about the size of adult fingertip) piece of plastic that I assume it is for holding the bassinet piece. My son realized that if he poured milk or juice in those it would create a little puddle! So he would do it everyday. Many times I caught him in time but others the milk and the juice had dried to the point of me scrubbing it with a sponge and the whole thing wouldn't wipe as you can not reach all the way to the bottom.

Before people say I left him alone in playpen... The answer is NO, we live in a small apartment and I am always in the living room or dining room with my son. The more surprised I was to actually see him doing all of those stunts! I am surprised this model was not a recall but if you DO have this model please make sure you supervise your baby when using it at ALL times. If your baby is small enough to crawl underneath pad he would suffocate.

This review is for the Cosco Juvenile Model 05010 TCT (very similar to this playpen.

4 out of 5 stars PlayYard   July 4, 2008

Good product. It does tend to hang up when being dismantled. More a "getting used to how to do problem" than a design flaw. I would recommend it to anyonbe who needs a smaller "play pen" for limited occasional use.

4 out of 5 stars great but small   May 20, 2008

this play pen like any is great to have when you can't watch your baby.

however this one is fairly small. it bought mine from Target for $48 and it fits the price.

i think i'm gonna return it for a bigger one, particularly the "Graco Pack n' Play Portable Playard in Bugs Quilt".

if you don't have much room this one if great to have.

4 out of 5 stars good product   March 27, 2008

My 14 month old sleeps in this because of space issues. A taller child could probably climb out and would not be able to stretch out fully when lying down. But it is perfect for us. It does not have the bells and whistles (bassinet, mobile..) therefore it is a much better price. It is lightweight (but not too light), the pad seems comfortable to my child, and it sets up/down quickly and comes with a carry bag. Other than her possibly outgrowing it quickly (since she is so old already), the only drawback is the sides feel like they are coming apart if I pull on it. So I am careful when I move it.
