Very versatile and comfortable baby carrier October 15, 2008 A. House (Augusta, GA) This is my third sling, and I really like it. My other two are both pouch slings: a Hotsling and an adjustable Mayawrap pouch sling. You can't beat a pouch slings for pure simplicity of use. However, I think the Baby Ktan baby carrier is quickly becoming my favorite. It is essentially two pouch slings tied together, plus a sash to use as extra support for some of the positions. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: Very versatile -- wear your baby like you would in a regular pouch sling, or wear her facing forward or backward like you would in a Baby Bjorn. There are also hip carry and back carry positions -- 8 positions in all. Very comfortable -- the stretch cotton is wonderfully soft and in nearly all the positions, you can have the carrier go over both shoulders. This was a big selling point for me because I find that my back aches after about an hour or so in a regular pouch sling. In the Baby Ktan, with both shoulders carrying the load, it's much easier. Packable -- much less bulk than a Baby Bjorn or other structured/padded carrier; about the size of two pouch slings. Large weight range -- I can also put my 30 lb. toddler in the hip carry position with this thing. Machine wash, tumble dry. Cons: A little bit of a learning curve and not quite as quick and easy to use as a pouch sling. Takes up about twice as much room as a pouch sling in the diaper bag. One buying tip: Pay close attention to the sizing recommendations, and if you are at all in between sizes, get the smaller one. The material is quite stretchy. I bought a small to begin with, but returned it for an extra small, which fits me better. I'm 5'4" and average weight.
Excellent Product! October 1, 2008 Gina E. (St. Louis, MO) Every mother (or father) should have one of these, and I've recommended it to my fellow mommies! I love that there are no buckles or extra fabric and that it can be worn a number of ways. The fabric is stretchy and comfortable, and eases back and shoulder strain - even with a very big baby! My little one loves riding around in this!
Both versatile and comfy for me and my baby August 28, 2008 Super Mom (Denver, CO) This is truly the best carrier I have tried yet(and have purchased quite a few). My baby ktan is so easy to wear and feels like a t-shirt. My little girl is usually very finicky when I put her in a carrier but my baby loves this one. I put her in and she falls asleep right on me. Genius. I could never figure out the wraps, and she hates the structured carriers. My friend told me I had to buy a baby ktan, and she was right. I recommend this carrier for all moms and dads. I just bought my husband one as well, and he loves it too!!!
Great great baby carrier! July 23, 2008 Aimee (New York) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a fabulous baby carrier. My baby and I love it. Tried lots of others - wraps, a regular sling, the forward facing carriers - but the Baby K'tan is the best. Very cool design - like two slings together. It is very easy to use, many carrying positions (8), can nurse my baby in it privately, very soft comfortable material, and it is comfortable on my back (it has a back support band that slides up and down) and it rests on both of my shoulders so much more supportive than a regular sling.
Perfect carrier for adopted child July 19, 2008 K. Olson I love my K'tan carrier. It was perfect for carrying my new daughter around Vietnam. It kept her close to me and spread the weight across my back instead of on my shoulders. She loves to be snuggled in it and then to sit up in it and see the world. It is wonderful. I also get lots of compliments on it.
