Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The Fisher-Price Aquarium Bath Tub brings a comfortable bath time experience to both babies and parents in three stages of use: Newborn, Infant and Older Infant/Toddler. Each stage has a different washing position and use for the soft sling.

In Newborn Mode, hang the sling from both ends, providing a safe and comfortable platform for bathing even the youngest babies. The sling includes a head support for stability. In Infant Mode, the sling sits along the slope of the narrow end of the tub and provides support for infants that cannot hold themselves up. Additionally, the bump in the base of the tub provides a stop. In Toddler Mode, sitting babies can sit at the wider end of the tub, giving them more room. The sling provides added support along the back wall.

The Fisher-Price: Aquarium Bath Tub has soft cushions along the upper lip of the tub, giving parents a comfortable resting position for their arms and wrists. Tub comes with three aquarium-themed toys, including a pouring cup and a toy that sprinkles water.

Amazon.com Review
Rub-a-dub-dub! From earliest infancy to toddler-hood, the Aquarium Bath Center from Fisher-Price provides three stages that grow with baby. The versatile sling feature means baby can get squeaky clean in comfort while mom and dad are assured by its safety.

infant position
The sling attached as a hammock provides comfort for infants.
For newborns, the sling is attached to both ends of the tub like a hammock. This creates a platform that comfortably cradles baby's entire body and keeps them above the tub's water level. For infants, the sling attaches to only the narrow end of the tub, providing trunk and neck support for those who can't sit up by themselves yet. There is an included headrest for both the newborn and infant stages that provides additional support and comfort to baby.

toddler position
Toddlers can be bathed in the large end once sitting up on their own.
Finally, in the toddler position, the sling can be moved to the wide end of the tub or removed altogether, giving baby more room and offering back support for sitting upright.

Because bathing isn't just about getting clean (it's also supposed to be fun!), the Aquarium Bath Center has some other great features. Soft armrests along both sides of the tub keep mom and dad comfortable so they won't have to rush through bath time. Fisher-Price also includes a rinsing cup, a water-sprinkling toy, and a fish-shaped toy that doubles as a water temperature gauge to keep everyone entertained.

Notes to Customers
Newborn stage is meant for babies weighing up to 10 pounds. Some assembly is required.

2 out of 5 stars Not as comfortable as it looks......   December 1, 2008
Sonya R. Johnson (Bean Station, TN)
I bought this for my newborn son who weighed 9-1, I used the sling for newborns but the ridge in the tub that is used for the baby's bottom (when they are bigger)pushed into my newborns back leaving welts!! So, when he turned about 3 months old (about 13 lbs) I took the infant sling out and used just the tub but also had problems. The back rest does not have a non-slip surface so you must be very careful or the small infant will just slide/ tip over to the side !!

2 out of 5 stars Awkward and Uncomfortable...2 1/2 Stars...   November 22, 2008
Mercedes Johnmeyer (Kingsland, GA)
I used this tub for the first 6 months of my son's life, and I never really liked it. It was OK when he was a little baby and could fit in the sling part, but the pillow would get very cold very fast, and keeping him warm while trying to bathe him at the same time was a challenge.

When I took the sling out, the tub became a HUGE pain-in-the-butt. The seat area was almost too small for him, so he was always uncomfortable. Plus, he wasn't yet sitting up on his own, but laying back would make the tub tip backwards...even with water in it. What aggravated me the most though, was just how hard it was to get ALL the soap off his body. The water in the tub becomes soapy as you rinse him off, so unless you have a detachable shower head (which I do not) then there's soap on him when you pull him out.

I only used this tub maybe twice after removing the sling. At about 6 1/2 months, I ditched it and bought a bath chair...MUCH better! Overall, this was just OK as an infant tub, but no good for bigger babies. I do not recommend.

1 out of 5 stars Who knew a tub could cause so much trouble   November 13, 2008
M. Shackleford (Houston, TX USA)
I have used this tub for my two kids and have never been happy with it. When using the hammock their back would lay right on that hump and it would leave a huge red mark on their back, I don't know how they put up with it. And only their little tushes were in the water, leaving me to constantly try to keep the rest of their body warm. The pillow also would get very cold. Without the hammock they keep slipping off that seat and can't seem to get comfortable at all. Then, we they are old enough to sit well, the dang seat is too small. At every stage, this tub has been a disappointment. We picked it because it was the fancier of the tubs, but honestly the 10 dollar Safety First tub has a better design and you can just buy your own toys.

5 out of 5 stars Well thought-out product   November 11, 2008
tachi1 (Miami, FL United States)
Good design, easy to use for new mothers of newborns as the sling gives the baby support and mom less anxiety. Still useful as baby gets sturdier and mom gets more confident. Comfortable and well balanced with thoughtful little extras.

1 out of 5 stars Very Disappointing ... Not Comfortable for Baby .. Difficult to Use   October 22, 2008
S. Patterson (San Francisco, CA)
I can't adequately express how much I hate this stupid, space-taking tub!!!! I agree with everything the other critical reviews of this product said. We bought it because it was cute and it looked like it would work well. The bump in the middle is an idiotic design flaw. If the manufacturers had tested the tub out with an actual baby in actual water, they would see how useless and scary it is. The bump makes it impossible to lay the baby down full length. The sling does not lift the baby off of the bump, but it does hold the baby almost completely out of the water (what's the benefit of that?). The inclined end does allow the baby to recline ... if you hold the baby at all times to make sure their [...] doesn't slip down past the bump. If it does, the baby could bump their little head. My major complaint is that the inclined section is too shallow, and that the deep part of the tub is too short. If you use the inclined part, you end up with a wet baby that is sitting out of the water getting cold. I think the "giant sponge" - type bath products (Safety 1st Comfy Bath Cushion) are best for newborns and then something like the Summer Infant Newborn-To-Toddler Fold Away Baby Bath or Munchkin White Hot Inflatable Duck Tub would be much better.
