For 11 years, the firm fabricated machine and car parts for local manufacturers. In 1953, Gray left the firm, leaving Cone as sole owner. Cone decided to manufacture his own line of products, but had trouble coming up with ideas. Enter David Saint, an engineer, tinkerer, and stained glass artisan who worked for Graco. Saint, himself a father of nine, was intrigued when an associate told him how his wife would soothe their tired and cranky baby while swinging in a backyard glider swing. Acting on this inspiration, he went to the drawing board and 18 months of hard work later, the world's first wind-up infant swing, the Graco Swyngomatic, was born. Graco sold millions of Swyngomatics in the coming years, becoming one of the world's leading manufacturers of juvenile products in the process. Today, Graco is a Newell Rubbermaid company, with 1500 associates worldwide. While a half-century has brought many changes to Graco, their dedication and commitment to designing and manufacturing top-quality products remains, and continues on. What's in the Box playard, playmat, bassinet, toy gym, Baby Einstein Activity Panel, toy caterpillar, and carrying bag.

N/A November 21, 2008 K. Auzinger-Hotzel My son loves the colors and can't get enough of the musical light thing that came with it. He is even playing with it when he is not in the playard. However, the toys on top are quite pointless. He can't reach them and they make it difficult to get him in and out. Otherwise, it is great. Easy to set up and clean.
good but nothing special September 7, 2008 niecespieces (Baltimore, MD) Pretty much the same as the other Graco playpens, really. The upside is that theoretically, you get a play-gym within this system by attaching the arch on the bassinet pad and using it on your floor. The downside is that there's no changing station included with this one - and having an elevated changing pad is a bigger deal than I had anticipated, as it gets hard on your back to lean down into the bassinett for frequent diaper changing during the daytime.
Definately worth the money!!! May 27, 2008 B. Hill Great Product. Very satisfied and pleased. We bought this after doing some research and found this to be the best one for our situation. We have an infant that was born prematurely and spend the first 5 months of his life in the hospital. With the Baby Einstein product, we were able to test our baby's eyesight and physical capabilities with all the bright colors and suspended play area on top. I recommend this product to anyone. Very Happy!!
Baby Einstein May 13, 2008 Eva Graco Baby Einstein Discover and Play This play pen/crib is perfect for visitors or traveling. It was extremely easy to assemble and even easier to take apart. My baby slept comfortably in the bassinet portion and I would recommend this to others.
Delightful item May 11, 2008 Elizabeth M. Carl (Bayview ID) After shopping around at the various baby stores and checking out all the competition I decided on this play yard for my grandchild as it was colorful, sturdy and easy to put together. The toys on the mobile are bright and delightful. Other portacribs only have funky toys on the mobiles and have too much in the way of diaper changing accessories that are nice but not necessary. The music it plays is great. The price is right too. I recommend this one.
