Amazon.com Product Description Take a fun and educational trip around the world with the Bratz Girlz. Whether you're trying to ace your next geography test or are just culturally curious, this electronic learning globe covers a lot of ground. The colorful orb has a wide base with a plethora of buttons (for a plethora of facts), spins easily enough on its axis, and has a stylus in the form of a purple airplane attached to its right side.
The globe offers a lot of information on the world's countries. View larger. |
Use the plane-shaped stylus to select locations and answer questions. View larger. | The stylus is the key to it all. Regardless of which learning mode you are in, you will need to touch your destination with the plane to reveal information and answer game questions. The three modes include: Fabulous Fifty, where facts about food, music, landmarks, and more can be learned for 50 popular countries; World Tour, which provides information like currency, population, highest point, etc. on anyplace on the globe; and Games, which offers six games that require globetrotters to locate places on the sphere before time runs out. There is a repeat button to hear a question again, which can come in handy for younger users. Aside from loads of information on the world's countries, there is also trivia about states, provinces, oceans, and continents. The Time Zone feature lets you know what time it is in other parts of the world right now. If you've done enough traveling for one day, but still want to experiment in foreign fabulousness, try making one of the 14 recipes out of the included 24-page cookbook. They feature tasty dishes from around the world and are a great way to share what you've learned with the rest of the family. The Bratz globe requires 4 C batteries and one AAA battery, none of which are included. After a few minutes of inactivity, it will automatically shut off, helping to conserve power.

Excellent learning tool January 6, 2009 Emily Robson (Springfield, MO) My daughter is 5 and I got her this for Christmas. Not only does she love it, but it's an excellent learning tool. It teaches audibly countries, populations, oceans, etc etc. I don't usually let my daughter play with Bratz stuff because I don't want her to follow the model it portrays for girls, but if Bratz wants to teach my daughter to be a little smarter, I'm all for that!
OK for what I paid January 30, 2008 A. Narasimha (sunnyvale) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
As someone wrote before, you have to be careful with those stickers, if not, you will rip the globe. My problem is with he hear sliding sswitch. iy is supposed to say facts about oceans and stuff. but it recognises states and conitnents. when I slide it to 'countries' it does not recognise. when i slide it to' oceans' , it does not recognise, nor says any factsa bout any ocean.[...] overall, globe is OK, voice is not very clear. nothing great, and definitely has the fel of being cheaply made.
Do Not Waste Your Money! January 25, 2008 Zuzu (St. Louis, MO) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We purchased this globe for our eight-year-old daughter. The globe came with postage size "advertisements" stuck around the globe. When my daughter tried to take off the "advertisements" the paper on the globe came with them. I have tried since the end of December to resolve this issue with MGA Entertainment, and they have for a lack of a better word, called me a liar and said my daughter has stuck "stickers" on the globe and that is why there is no Mexico, Israel, Japan, and part of the Atlantic Ocean. The sad part is that my daughter likes the globe and is learning about different languages, music, and currency. She does not want to give up the globe, but for what you pay, I would really like a replacement from the manufacturer.
the voice is not too clear January 23, 2008 amy (OH, USA) I bought this product for my daughters. It is hard to point to smaller states with the pen as the tip is a little broad and the voice is not that clear. The room should be very quite to understand clearly what the globe says. Otherwise it is a good educational toy. My girls love bratz and that is the reason I bought this toy.
Great toy January 15, 2008 Rhonda Allen (Guyana) I presented this toy to my six year old daughter for Christmas. It's really interactive, educational, fun, entertaining and very easy to operate. She enjoys the games that challenge her memory and it has undeniably improved her knowledge of places around the world, the people and their cultures. She is also very fascinated with the fabulous places which have tons of information about particular countries. I had forgotten where exactly was Mount Everest and the globe has certainly refreshed my memory. Not only is it educational for kids but adults as well and I give it five stars. I would definitely recommend it.
