About Graco In 1942, Russell Gray and Robert Cone formed Graco Metal Products, in Philadelphia, PA. For 11 years, the firm fabricated machine and car parts for local manufacturers. In 1953, Gray left the firm, leaving Cone as sole owner. Cone decided to manufacture his own line of products, but had trouble coming up with ideas. Enter David Saint, an engineer, tinkerer, and stained glass artisan who worked for Graco. Saint, himself a father of nine, was intrigued when an associate told him how his wife would soothe their tired and cranky baby while swinging in a backyard glider swing. Acting on this inspiration, he went to the drawing board and 18 months of hard work later, the world's first wind-up infant swing, the Graco Swyngomatic, was born. Graco sold millions of Swyngomatics in the coming years, becoming one of the world's leading manufacturers of juvenile products in the process. Today, Graco is a Newell Rubbermaid company, with 1500 associates worldwide. While a half-century has brought many changes to Graco, their dedication and commitment to designing and manufacturing top-quality products remains, and continues on. Lifesaver! November 26, 2008 Hillary Gardner (san diego, ca USA) I love this product! After having back surgery, it's very hard for me to lift my daughter in her car seat. I open this up in one swift click and snap on the car seat and viola! It's so simple, light weight and convenient. I don't go anywhere without it.
Love, love, love!!! November 22, 2008 Mommy of Two (NJ) I LOVE this stroller!!! I had the traditional travel system with my first son and it was so heavy to lug around. This idea of having just the stroller frame is awesome! I'm so happy I purchased this along with the Graco car seat. It's so easy to use and lightweight. LOVE IT!!!
great product for the price! November 18, 2008 C. Ellis I am glad we purchased the Graco Snugrider. We keep it in the car and use for quick trips shopping or running errands. The basket is a generous size. It doesn't ride as smoothly as we would like, but for the price you can't beat it. I do not reccomend it as your only stroller, as I do not think it would do well on bumpy sidewalks, or any less than smooth surface.
Mostly good, but some cheap plastic pieces November 9, 2008 Ian C. Guch (VA) This item is quite good, but the cupholder tends to fall off at the drop of a hat and the plastic piece that secures the child car seat seems to bend quite easily. We use it a lot, but wish it were a little heavier duty.
much better than a full-on stroller for 0-6 mo October 23, 2008 Holly Loth (Philadelphia) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'm so glad we elected to do the baby bucket + stroller base frame rather than one of those full-metal stroller systems. For one thing, the frame is a lot lighter and easier to fold and get in and out of a trunk -- a LOT easier. Also, by the time my son reached the age when the bucket + frame no longer worked for us, we had come to realize that the kind of stroller we wanted was a lightweight umbrella-style stroller, NOT one of those massive things that come as part of a stroller-carseat-base system. My only quibble with this frame is that it didn't quite stand up to the huge strain we put on it. My son needed to be pushed back and forth for hours at a time in order to sleep when he was a newborn, and so the beating this frame took was probably miles more than it was designed for. It started to squeak and became a little wobbly, such that my husband had to keep spraying lubricant and tightening bolts to keep it quiet enough not to wake the boy up and sturdy enough that we didn't worry about it falling to bits. For normal use, though, I'm sure it would be just fine.
