The cotton buds grow in natural shades of cream, brown, and green and are hand picked and processed to make the most wonderful natural colors in this set. This is why the feel of the finished products is so soft and gentle. CERTIFIED PURE The finished product is certified Oeko-Tex 100 which certifies that it is free from 100 harmful chemicals that are popular in textile processing. This standard goes above and beyond simply using organic cotton and then dying or printing it with chemicals during the typical fabric making procedure. Oeko-Tex 100 Certification ensures that the FINSISHED PRODUCT, not just the original cotton, is free of harmful chemicals as well. GOOD FOR BABY Natures Purest has been designed to create fabulous products that will comfort and protect your newborn baby. The cotton fibers rich, natural vegetable proteins gently caress the baby?s new skin. Other lines start out with organically grown cotton and then add dangerous chemical agents during dyeing or printing which can often irritate soft new skin. GOOD FOR EARTH The organically grown cotton from sustainable crops is harvested and processed without use of pesticides, chemicals, or dyes. It is natural and pure. Conventional cotton is often promoted as a "natural" product; however, it is one of the most heavily sprayed crops, utilizing more than 25% of all the insecticides in the world--yet it is farmed on only 3% of the world's farmland. In addition, conventional cotton textile manufacturing involves bleaches, formaldehyde, and other chemical finishes, as well as other chemical processes. This bedding is gorgeous and super soft. However, if you're looking for 100% organic bedding, don't buy this. We bought this after reading the long description about how organic and natural it was. For $200, it better be organic! We got it home and when I read the tag on the comforter, the filler is 100% polyester. They "accidentally" left that off the extremely long description. The crib sheet and the dust ruffle are organic if that matters.
