Love it! December 17, 2008 Robin L. Gupton (Richmond, Virginia USA) I loved this for my daughter early on. It was nice not having to figure out a blanket-this solves that problem! They will outgrow it though (by like 3-4 months old)
You'll Like It! November 10, 2008 Gary Peterson (San Diego, California USA) Here's a nifty product for newborn babies that I read about in a magazine. When our baby boy was born, the people in the hospital suggested swaddling and showed us how to do it. Well, best of luck! Our boy is large, strong and active. A swaddling generally lasts only for a few minutes. The SwaddleMe is an adjustable wrap with velcro fasteners. I place the baby in and give him a moderately tight wrap and fasten him securely with the velcro patches. He doesn't like getting wrapped and can put up a good struggle. However, once wrapped he calms down and seldom cries thereafter. We've had him sleep peacefully for up to six hours while under wrap. When he's awake, he sometimes struggles to get out and is strong enough to kick the bottom out and he sometimes get his arms partially free. When that happens, the SwaddleMe is wadded up on his upper body. It's a minor problem, but we keep a watch on him just in case. Usually, when he gets partially free, he starts crying so that serves as a warning system. This is a wonderful product. I wonder what we'd do without it? We have several of them in different colors and use them every night. We also have a fleece model which we use on cooler evenings. Try one. We'll bet you can't do without it from then on. Gary Peterson
Another "Must Have" September 5, 2007 Michael A. Vail (Camp Red Cloud, Korea) This really helped our baby sleep better. Made her feel safe and secure, so she slept longer. Can't say enough. This is a Must Have. Recomend 2-3 to always have one available.
Essential Baby Item October 4, 2006 Melanie Mendelson 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
When my daughter was born, I didn't know about swaddling, and it would take me HOURS to get her to sleep! I would feed or rock her in my arms until she falls asleep, then put her in her crib... and she'd flail her arms, wake up and cry, and I had to start all over! What a nightmare! Then I figured out that since her arms wake her, it would make sense to wrap her in something so she couldn't move them as much... so I started wrapping her in regular receiving blankets. It worked! It became much easier to get her to sleep. But then she wiggled out of those receiving blankets and wake up again. When she was a little over a month old, somehow I came across SwaddleMe blankets on the Internet and immediately bought it. It worked like a charm! It was so easy to wrap my daughter in it, and it stayed put. My daughter started sleeping so much better! I wish I found those blankets sooner - it would've saved me from so many sleepless nights! 2 years later, my son was born, and thankfully I already knew about those blankets from the start. He goes to sleep great in the SwaddleMe blanket! Out of curiosity, I tried to put him to sleep without this blanket, and his arms wake him right away - exactly the same as my daughter! I consider this blanket one of the most important baby items you could buy. It should be a must for a new mother who wants to get some sleep!
I love the Swaddle Me! July 5, 2006 Grailmaiden (Thousand Oaks, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This was one of the best new baby items that I used. I swaddled my baby for the first 8 weeks and this made it so much easier. Once you get the hang of how to wrap it properly it is easy and can be done in the dark in the middle of the night if need be. The only thing I did not like about this product is that the velcro wears out fairly rapidly and does not stay closed well. My daughter could squirm her way out of it at 8 weeks. Other than that it is soft, and warm, but not too warm. Overall, a really great product.
