Needs to have a lid November 24, 2008 Sammy (Florida United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My 5 year old likes to play with this toy, but the problem is the lack of a lid for the box. The letters fall out and it is a big pain to take in the car. For a Melissa & Doug toy, I'm suprised that the storage is so poor.
great product November 23, 2008 Amy S (Chelsea, MI USA) This is a great way to learn to read, by individually placing the letter in the correct spot. I'm using it with my 4 year old as it is, and also to help him sound out more difficult words in books. When he's stumped, I just get out the letters and place them on the table. He starts with the first sound and on through the word until he's figured it out. A great educational tool.
Another winner from Melissa and Doug November 18, 2008 qadig (TN) What can I say? If you have liked other Melissa and Doug products, you'll love this one. It's really nice that it comes with so many letters, because your child can use them as a movable alphabet apart from the puzzles!
Great teaching toy November 16, 2008 LisInTexas (Texas) My son asks to play with this toy!! We keep it in a drawer near the kitchen table and typically in a week it is played with 4-5 times. My son is 3.5 and still loves playing with his 'puzzle toy' as he calls it. I really believe it has helped him to learn his letters and short words. A+ toy.
Not at all durable October 29, 2008 J. S. Latture (Charleston, SC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Not impressed with this toy. Good concept very poor execution. We have owned this toy about two weeks. Specifically the top color laminate of the letters is falling off about 25% of the letters. The storage box is poorly made with cheap materials. I would not recommend this toy.
