Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Now you dont have to stay in one room if you want to watch and listen to your baby while she sleeps. The BébéSounds Portable Video and Sound Monitor operates on either AC or battery power so you can move freely about the house and still be able to see and hear your baby. With this monitor you have several options because both the camera and receiver can operate on either AC or battery power. When your baby is sleeping in the nursery, you can use the AC adapter for the camera thereby saving battery life. If you are going to be working in only one room when the baby is sleeping, you can also use an AC adapter to power your receiver. For total battery operation, the receiver requires 5 AA rechargeable batteries (included) and the camera requires 6 AA alkaline or rechargeable batteries (not included). Key features of the monitor are: 900 MHz No interference from wireless routers, microwaves, or 2.4 GHz telephones 375 ft. range Extra large 2.25 color TFT LCD screen Automatic infrared night vision 2 channels Rechargeable video receiver Completely wireless with battery operation Optional scanning feature when 2 cameras are used Optional power saving mode for receiver No annoying external antenna on receiver Includes video cable so you can view your baby on your TV Wall mount and belt attachment Expandable - works with 2 cameras

1 out of 5 stars stopped working after one month!   September 2, 2008

We have owned 4 video monitors in 3 years and this was the worst! It seemed like a great idea since we just had our 2nd child. Unfortunately, after only one months use the video no longer works!!! I am trying to contact Amazon and the manufacturer to get a refund or exchange. Don't buy this product!!

I agree with almost everything that was in this prior comment:

"Basically any feature described in the product information failed to be true. Horrible interference, horrible color display (black and white would be better), system blacks out for no reason, static picture if you move the monitor.

I would not trust the safety of my child to this product. I can only hope that one of the two other monitor systems that I ordered are not as bad as this one."

We had the same issues.. wouldn't work over 35 feet.. constant blackouts.. never clear ..rarely showed any color.

TERRIBLE PRODUCT

5 out of 5 stars Best Video Monitor Option I Found!! Highly Recommend!   June 25, 2008

I have been very, very pleased with this monitor. We tried to add a 2nd camera to our old sfaety first video monitor but it would just not support two cameras even though it was suppose to. I researched and read tons of reviews on video monitors, quality of the image, portability, interference, etc. and finally decided on the BebeSounds 2 camera package. It has been excellent!

Positive:
The cameras are easy to use, swivel in any direction to get your image, can be attached to a wall instead of placed on a flat surface, seem to be sturdy, are light weight and run on an AC cord.

The monitor has an excellent quality picture image. I was afraid coming from the mini tv sized monitor with safety first that I would not like the smaller image but the quality and detail is so good I love being able to move it around and take it with us out of town. It can run on rechargeable batteries or the AC plug. You can watch just one room, just the other room, or set it to flip back every few seconds between rooms. Very easy to use. You can adjust the light on the camera from the monitor so if the image is too dark, or too bright, you can change it without going into the child's room. Sound is great. no interference with our wireless router or several cordless phones. Works throughout our home across 3 stories and into the yard.

Negative:
The monitor comes with 5 rechargeable batteries and only uses rechargeable batteries. It states this clearly in several places on the monitor. Despite that, someone in my family decided it was only a suggestion and put regular batteries in it and they overheated and actually leaked something that took the varnish off in a spot my end table. We generally use rechargeable batteries because not using them is too expensive for kids things so this was clearly user error, but anyone using it needs to know the red warning label inside the battery compartment is a requirement, not a suggestion. I also wish it used on 4 batteries because I can only charge 4 at a time on our charger and that 5th battery is an extra charging step. We rarely use it off the plug anyways so on a true hassle scale, it is pretty low. Compared to the overall quality of the equipment, I would buy this and recommend it again and again.

Does not have any intercom from the monitor back to the camera(s) - basically that sooth your baby by talking to him/her through the monitor. Our old system never had it, a friends system we borrowed did and I never used it, so to us it was not an issue. But if you want that feature, this system will not have it.

Overall - Love Love Love this system!!!!

We are very happy with this monitor. We use it for two children whose rooms are about twenty feet apart, and it works well. My only complaint is that the picture is not as large as my old summer's infant single monitor. But, the summer infant doulbe monitor interferes with our wireless airport ... Bebe sounds does not!
