Looks great October 16, 2008 Tobias Scherf This gate was easy to istall and easy to work. I have a two year old daughter and she pushes against it and hangs on it and it does not move. I am able to hold her and open the gate at the same time it just take some getting use to. I love it and I am telling all my friends with young children to get one. If you don't want little dents on your wall then don't buy a pressure monunted gate, as for me the dents are worth it to keep my kids safe.
Looks nice, but doesn't function very well August 13, 2008 Mom of Two Tots 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this gate to keep my 8 month old in the kitchen. Installation was relativley easy, but functionally it's hard to use. One handed operation is a joke. You have to hold the lever with your thumb and lift the door up and toward the slide to open it. It isn't easy to do. This gate also dented my drywall where the pressure mount pad was. I'll be returning it and looking for another gate.
so far so good June 30, 2008 J. Green 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We have been using our summer infant gate for about a month now. So far we have been very pleased with it. It has held up to our 14-month old toddler pushing & pulling on it. When installed correctly the swing gate works great and closes back well. It is easy to open one-handed and has a clean, sleek appearance!
Unsafe - Run Away from this Product May 4, 2008 ShutterbugMommie (Holland, MI) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the poorest quality product I have ever seen. The construction of this gate is extremely cheap. A rivet holding the bottom of the gate into the swing arm falls out. My husband and I had to really yank on the gate just to get it opened, and but when it finally opened, the bottom of the metal gate came out of the plastic swing arm. Also my 9 1/2 month old son could shake the gate hard enough to make it bend at the extensions, which made the gate very loose and easy to pull out of the wall which give the chance that it could fall on my son. We plan to call the manufacturer to issue our complaint. This gate is a piece of crap, do not bother buying. Pay a little more and get a better quality product.
very pretty, but... April 27, 2008 C. Masson 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This gate is very beautiful in life. I have two gates from this maker and have the same problem with both. In order to have the gate catch when it swings back you have to set the brackets just right. For some reason on both gates I have to readjust constantly to keep them working. It will work for a few days and then I have to tighten/loosen in order for the bottom latch to catch as it should. Also, on the top of the gate is a thumb latch, which I cannot get to work properly. If I tighten the gate up enough that the top latch works, then the bottom one will not. In order to have the bottom latch work, I have to keep the top of the gate loose enough that the latch doesn't reach. This is true on both gates from this maker in two different spots in my house. The gate seems safe enough with just the bottom latch catching, but it is not ideal and as I said, I keep having to work at it in order to keep it functional.
