4 out of 5 stars Great gate.   June 13, 2008
DC Amazoner (Washington, DC USA)
I don't think the reviewer who said their toddler can knock the gate right over read the instructions thoroughly. I'll admit that the adjustment mechanism isn't as intuitive as it could be. But once you understand how the resizing mechanism works you can get a very tight fit. I highly recommend this gate as long as you read the directions first.

2 out of 5 stars Good idea, but bad execution - needs TWO adjustable sides   April 9, 2008
RRH (Charleston area, SC, USA)

Once again the world of baby gates shows that they have very little grasp on how real live houses are built. I bought this gate for the "adjustable" feature - I have baseboards throughout the house and needed a gate that could handle those. I thought I had found the gate. Brought it home and discovered the adjustment is available only on one side - rendering it useless. How difficult would it have been to make both sides adjustable? How often is there baseboarding on only one side of an opening? This design strikes me as a good idea but the execution is ridiculously bad. The designers apparently sacrified the 'adjustable' feature of the gate in order to make it both pressure- and wall-mounted. That was a very poor trade-off in my opinion. It's so hard to find gates that can handle uneven fixture points; this gate should have stuck to that feature alone.

Most irksome is that the product's packaging intentionally obscures the non-adjustable side so you can't see it's non-adjustable. I thought that was sleazy. This gate is going back tomorrow.

4 out of 5 stars Great Gate for our kitchen   January 29, 2008
Brooke (Canton, OH)
We use this gate for our Kitchen area to keep our boys out when cooking/cleaning/etc. This gate works perfect, as they do not have an easy way of climbing it. Yes, the gate does become loose after removing it and putting it back in it's place...HOWEVER, it's not THAT big of a deal, as I can adjust it with one hand and a leg if need be while holding my baby.

This is our 3rd type of gate for our kitchen area and so far I like this one the best. Our company has had difficulty operating every gate that blocks our kitchen...but I think that's user error for it doesn't take much but a little patience and common sense to figure this gate out.

This gate also works great if we are using it to block of a certain hallway area or living room as well.

I would Highly recommend this gate for regular use...although I'm unsure of whether I would use it at the top of stairs, for we have not attempted that.

1 out of 5 stars Doesn't stay in place   January 23, 2008
Mom of 2
This gate does not keep enough pressure to stay in place, my toddler can knock it right over w/ little effort.
