Amazon.com Product Reviews

The Summer Infant Secure Surround gate is a convenient way to carve out a playing space inside and outside of the house. The 30-inch tall and 32-inch wide durable plastic panels provide 18.5 square feet of play space. Remove two panels (from six to four) to use as a smaller play area or to partition "off limits" objects around the house. It is easy to assemble, and once set up, the surround gate was sturdy and sound, and the walk-through gate swings both ways for quick access. Fold up the panels and use the handle to carry and transport, just make sure you have a little muscle. --Scott Teal

2 out of 5 stars Waste of money   August 18, 2008
Michelle J. Carney (USA)
Good idea but not very useful. Using it outside my son HATED being in here, even with toys. Inside he cried and cried. Get a pack n play, lots more use and not as expensive!

5 out of 5 stars kid safety   June 15, 2008

Great safety apparatus. It has really made life easier for our daughter when she wants to work outside. Her son has a safe haven to play in, and his mother doesn't have to worry about his running onto the road. Because of the size, he doesn't mind it either.

5 out of 5 stars Exactly what we needed!   June 1, 2008

We love this product. We had actually purchased a similar product at a local baby store. However, it did not have a gate feature, it was horrible to open and reconfigure, and part of the plastic broke off of it while my son was playing in it (he was only 7 months old); he thought it would be good snack; luckily he was not injured. So I took it back and started looking online. This product is great--lighter weight, but sturdy, has a gate feature, is taller (for those little ones that like to try to climb) and folds up very easily w/ joints that can be tightened or loosened. I've recommended this to other new parents. It's a life saver (and a sanity saver!)

2 out of 5 stars Looks sturdy, but isn't   May 24, 2008

I bought this because I needed something to put my son in while I did house work... something roomy. I also purchased the extension. Once he was in it he would stand up against it and it would bend or move so easily. He wasn't even trying to move it or bend it and it would. My mom had the other brand yard and it was much sturdier! I wanted to try this one because I like this brand, but I would highly recommend the other brand. The gate is a nice addition to this one though, and that is why I gave it any stars.

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful Product   May 20, 2008
BLFroman (Oregon)
I purchased this item with the additional panels for my 7 month old and couldn't be happier with it. We have two dogs so this keeps baby in and them out, not to mention keeping my busy bundle of chaos in a safe place. I have used it inside and it's great. Outside is where I really appreciate it. My son has been trying to 'escape' outside since he could move and it's wonderful to have somewhere to put him so that he can happily play and I can get things done in the yard. I use it with a shade tent, the play yard fits inside and my son is out of the sun. It is truly and wonderful product!
