1 out of 5 stars cpu guard   August 25, 2008

If you can sew, make this yourself and buy some sticky velcro at the craft store. Mine also came in grey (thought it would be black like the picture!) The grey doesnt hide the lighted power button on the front of the computer, this was exactly the thing that enticed him to shut the comuter on and off ... he can still see the button through the light grey material and is still attracted to push it! save some money, make it yourself for less!

2 out of 5 stars Needs Improvement   May 21, 2008

This product has to be redesigned. Problems:
1) As above witer states the material is not opaque so any light shines right thru - an invitation for disaster. You can fix this on your own by attaching something opaque to the inside like aluminum foil. But really - why should we have to fix their design flaws?
2) The velcro does not stick to the computer case - so every time you want to open it the velcro does not come apart and the glue strip comes apart
3) Related to # 2 the velcro is too heavy duty - you need gorilla strength to pull it apart. If they used a lighter grip velcro it would probably fix #2 and # 3
4) As it is alot of hassle to take off to put a CD in. I would suggest cutting a hole in it where the CD is.

Don't pay more than $10 for this as that is what it is worth.

The product seems fine, however, the power button on our computer lights up and shines through this product. In our home, this is an invitation for our little toddler to push the button and turn the computer off. No fun if your in the middle of using the computer and all of a sudden it shuts down. Not to mention it not being good for your computer to be shut down in that way. I still have to keep something in front of the computer so he cannot get to it.

I bought one for each work and home and they do just what they are supposed to do. I was concerned that the velcro would not stick well to the towers but it has stayed in place despite the work out my 11 month old gives it. I would highly reccomend this for anyone that has a toddler that loves those computer buttons!
