Great for the price and peace of mind!! June 12, 2008 Jody Gibson (Texas) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I think the other reviewer must have installed these incorrectly. You have to attach one piece of each strap specifically to the furniture and the other end to the wall. It is clearly labeled, so it's not hard or anything, but it DOES make a difference. If you install it incorrectly (ie. furniture piece to wall and wall piece to furniture, you may have the problem the other reviewer mentioned). I tugged and yanked on mine after installation and the strap stayed tight. These straps can take a decent size piece of furniture (ie. a tall chest of drawers) and seem much more secure to me than the ones that just have a plastic piece and not a strap. I will buy these over and over for small to medium size pieces of furniture. For extra large pieces that are VERY heavy, like an entertainment center, I would either use more than just two of these or buy the type that are more expensive ($10+) that are cables instead of straps.
Think twice January 17, 2008 Edward N. Bowen (Nashville, TN USA) 4 out of 7 found this review helpful
Just a warning to other parents. We purchased this item and found it to be very unsafe. There is no way to lock the strap. Once it is tightened in place, all that is needed to untighten it is to pull on it, meaning the furniture could easily still topple over. Also, the sewn end of the strap pulled apart and came off from the bracket during its first use. I'm just glad this didn't happen after we had installed it. I would highly recommend looking for another product.
