Very Effective! October 15, 2008 Mel Bissoon (South Florida) I needed the Super Stopper right away so I couldn't order it online. I went to my local Babies R Us store and lucky for me they were on sale $5.50 each. I got 2 for my glass patio door. After the 5 second installation process I attempted to open my sliding glass door, it opens a wee-bit for ventilation (it's supposed to), but this opening is barely big enough to get your fingers thru it...I kept forcing it to open the back door and it DID NOT open! GREAT! Problem solved.
Useless September 18, 2008 petranela (Philadelphia, PA USA) I really wanted this to work. Five minutes after I put these on the window my 10 month old climbed up on our ground level window sills and pulled them right off. I left two on a high window for a couple of days until my mother (who didn't realize they were there) opened the window right up with very little resistance, leaving the stoppers in place. We're still trying to find a solution that doesn't involve bars.
Works well but quality questionable September 18, 2008 L. Nadolny I bought several of these for use with my daughter. If you forget that it is above the window, and try to open the window further, the two pieces will separate. Apparently, the two pieces of plastic (suction cup and wedge) are held together buy glue. They still work broken if I hold the two pieces together, and my daughter can't get the window open.
Absolute genius; but a bit expensive and might be flimsy July 12, 2008 Gadgester (New York) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This American-invented (U.S. patent #D333424) and American-made window stopper works very well, especially on vertical windows. You need to keep in mind that this is designed to prevent kids from opening windows and sliding doors, not to stop adult intruders. It's very easy to use: just make sure the surface of the window or door is clean, then press this stopper onto the window. That's it. Then, check its hold once a week to make sure it didn't come loose for some reason. The true genius of this simple device is the harder you try to open the lower window, the stronger the suction cup sticks to the upper glass pane. Absolutely ingenious. Thanks, Scott R. Kramer! Why not 5 stars? For six bucks you get just one such plastic stopper, and the overall feel of it is rather flimsy. When I put the first one on a window, I deliberately jammed the lower window into the stopper hard, and I thought I had broken the part where the step-shaped part connects to the suction cup. For a made-in-USA product, the manufacture quality is not too confidence-inspiring. Still, I *highly* recommend this product to any parent concerned about his or her kids climbing onto windows. In my apartment my landlord would not let me install metal bars, citing local fire code. This simple device solves all my problems!
simple to use and work well albeit bit expensive May 19, 2008 H. Wang (Santa Clara, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This product works well to block most types of window from being opened by small kids. It is simple to install - just press it against window at right location. It has good suction power so it won't be easily moved. However, this product seems to sell at quite a premium - from $7 to $15 each! It probably costs less than $1 to make, so I can't understand the high price at all.
