Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
10-4237-01dThe Baby Bath Gate is the bath time safety gate that protects babies from injuring themselves on the faucet and fixtures by completely walling them off. The Baby Bath Gate is an instant barrier that prevents the burns, bruises, scrapes, and chipped teeth that occur when the faucet and fixtures are within baby's reach. The Baby Bath Gate is the only faucet guard that allows Mom and Dad full access to the fixtures and faucet while at the same time protecting baby from them. No assembly is required, it installs in seconds and is unmovable by baby. The Baby Bath Gate consists of two adjustable plastic rods connected by a mildew-resistant safety screen and features innovative non-slip grip pads at the ends of the rods. No suction cups are used. The Baby Bath Gate fits all standard tubs (tub openings 19-26 inches across). To install, simply wet the grip pads on the ends of the rods and place at least 12 inches from the faucet. To extend the top rod, twist the twist grip until snug. Repeat with the bottom rod. It's that easy. The Baby Bath Gate's patent pending design is extremely sturdy. It has been tested by Intertek Labtest, the testing company that performs all safety certification for juvenile products. Even in a tub coated in oil, The Baby Bath Gate withstood 45 pounds of pressure. The Baby Bath Gate was conceptually created by a concerned mother of three who worked with a team of product engineers to perfect the design. The Baby Bath Gate from Baby First Corporation makes bath time safer and a lot more fun. Features: Specifically designed grip pads hold it secure (no suction cups are used) No assembly required and it installs in seconds Fits all standard tubs and tub openings 19-26 inches Rolls up for convenient storage and travel (storage/travel bag included) Ages 6 months and upShipping Note: This item ships via UPS Ground within contiguous Unit

5 out of 5 stars MOST THOUGHTFUL & UNIQUE SHOWER GIFT!   February 27, 2008
M. Russ (Wash DC)
I received this as a shower gift and have since made it the only gift I give to new and expectant mothers. It has caught on so much within my circle of friends that we all have them and bring them with us when we travel. They are light and easy to pack making bath time much more fun for baby and less stress for mom. Highly recommend as a shower gift if you want to wow your friends and have the most unique gift.

2 out of 5 stars I am so frustrated with this gate!!   February 19, 2008
Leelee
I wish I could send this thing back, but I threw the box away and have kept it too long, trying to get it to work out, but now I'm done w/it. I can't get the bottom bar to stay secure. The gate is good in theory, but I have an active and curious baby, and he's always trying to go underneath it because the lower bar won't stay put. I feel like I wasted the $30 I spent on this gate.

2 out of 5 stars Not as secure as needs to be   January 24, 2008

The bars tighten but loosen when the tub gets wet, my 14 month old has been able to pull the thing down and has on one occasion used the top bar to pull herself up causing the thing to collapse sending her face down into the water, could have been very dangerous. If using this, ALWAYS be within arms reach. Disappointing.

2 out of 5 stars Disappointed   January 21, 2008
A. McGriff (Columbus, Indiana)
I was very excited when I read about and ordered this product, but it did not live up to my expectations. Maybe it was because our tub is too curved, but I could not secure the bottom bar. (I was able to secure the top bar though.) Anyway, it does not fit ALL standard tubs and tub openings 19 - 26 inches, as advertised. Too bad!

5 out of 5 stars Works great!   October 25, 2007

This product works exactly as stated. My son is very big for his age and has outgrown his baby bathtub at age 9 months. I now bathe him in the regular tub, but I was worried about my son hitting his head on the spout, even with padding he would have hurt himself. Of course, I still keep an eagle eye on him, but now I don't have to constantly grab him and move him away. I would recommend this to anyone, perhaps even to use when bathing pets!
