Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The perfect baby shower gift. Use of this product couldn't be simpler. You just plug the camera into power somewhere in the baby room and plug the display into power in another room. Then you can instantly see clear, colorful video on the portable LCD display. You can also use the included A/V cable to connect the receiver to a TV for viewing on a bigger screen, or you can plug in the included earphones for silent listening. 3 channels are available. This means that you can add up to 2 additional Sharx Pan/Tilt Baby Monitors or indoor/outdoor Sharx 2.4 GHz wireless cameras, or you can leave a free channel in order to be able to use a 2.4 GHz computer Wifi network at the same time. Like any wireless baby monitor, this product is not recommended for use in very dense apartment complexes. In that case you may have so many other wireless devices nearby that finding a free channel would be difficult.

5 out of 5 stars Does what it claims it does!   November 3, 2008

As long as you read and understand how this product works and don't expect a lot more, you should be extremely happy with the product as I am.
Since my baby was born (he's now 17mos), I used the Graco monitor (just audio). It's a wonderful product, but over time, I found video would be of great help to avoid going into his room to check on him and possibly waking him up. - Long story short... it sounded like this sharx baby monitor would be perfect. Video, Audio, NIGHTVISION! and remote control of the camera! WOW. Almost too good to be true for the price. But it really does do it and wonderfully! Although the audio isn't like the Graco monitor, it's still great. The Video quality is fantastic and the nightvision is better than I ever imagined. It's really cool.
I was worried because my husband's a computer geek so we have tons of computer accessories and gadgets and on a wi-fi network. It turns out not to be an issue since it's all mostly in the living room and we mostly use the video monitor in our bedroom.
We have cordless phones, but they're 5.8ghz which don't cause interference.
We rent in a 2 family home in NYC (neighbors everywhere, semi-detached homes) which had me worried that we'd catch interference somewhere, but somehow, it doesn't. It works perfectly fine.
The only time I have a bit of trouble is when we take the monitor into the living room, it starts to get a bit staticky. Not horrible, but not clear. But that's ok, since I mostly want it when I'm trying to sleep and hear the baby, but don't want to wake him up further by going to check on him unnecessarily.
Furthermore, before purchasing the product, I called the manufacturer to get more information. They were of great help! I feel confident that if I needed or wanted to call them again with questions, they'd do whatever they can to help.
I am a very happy customer!

Great product except about the fact of not having a rechargeable battery on the receiver. Great image .Pan/Tilt function is great too. Night vision works very well. I'm in Brazil and hope it will keep working at summer time right here.

This product was cool but it intervered with my portable phones no matter what channel I but device on. There was terrible static and lines running thru the picture. I liked that you could zoom in and out and the night vision was great too. I wish it had the option where you could keep the sound turned on and turn off the camera when not necessary.

This video monitor is very clear in the day time and at night in total darkness. I love the tilt feature cause my little one does a lot of moving around in her sleep. It is very easy also to set up and easy to use. The video monitor is not too small and very lightweight so it is easily carried around throughout the house. This is my first experience with a video monitor and I'm so glad I choosed this one! Thanks sharx!

3 out of 5 stars I'm returning mine   September 9, 2008

I really, really wanted this monitor to work for me. It has awesome picture quality, and I love the feature that enables the user to hook the monitor up to a TV. The monitor is small and portable, yet the image is so clear and sharp, even in total darkness, and there is no distracting light on the camera to keep the child awake.

Unfortunately, I was unable to resolve the awful interference and resulting jumpy picture that I got with this monitor. The audio static was extremely loud as well, yet the receiver did not pick up the sound in my daughter's room very well at all. I could not hear my daughter in her room, even with the volume turned all the way up. We even tried speaking directly into the camera, and it was nearly impossible to hear.

The other complaint that I have with this monitor is that if you hook up two cameras and wish to have the monitor scan both, it will scan all three channels instead of just the two that are running the cameras. Therefore, if you don't install a third camera, you will likely see and hear a static-y third channel flip by every 10 seconds or so. I imagine that this could get to be pretty annoying after awhile, especially at night. This should not be a problem with the installation of one or three cameras; just with two.
