great product for price October 31, 2008 Tiffany R. Mcclure (Thomasville, GA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This gate works very well at the top of the stairs. Our problem is not with the gate, it's with our stairwell. The top of our stairs is uneven due to the molding on the walls. We had to add wooden shims to make the wall even with the molding in order to install the gate. Once installed, however, the gate is nice and secure. There's no need to spend the extra money on any of the other top of the stair gates. I would definitely recommend this product.
It works. October 28, 2008 H. Zhao (DC, US) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It works as it is supposed to. It is a simple gate with nothing fancy but it works. My son is less than one year but he can shake it. sometimes I am afraid that he will shake it down. The gate does not seem very sturdy. That is why I gave it a four star.
Pretty good for the price October 11, 2008 Wendy Bailey (Colorado) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The gate was easy to install, and does the job. My only complaint is that it is a little flimsy. Also, you can pull the whole thing up if you lift hard enough. It takes a little practice to open it. I would recommend it as long as you don't have a little one that wants to swing on it!!
Not the easiest to mount, but works great once installed September 25, 2008 V.G. (Portland, OR) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This gate works great once installed. I like the wide range of gate widths without any extender pieces. There are a couple of things to watch out for during mounting though. The template they give you for the hinge side specifies a distance from the floor, but if you have moldings the flange on the latch side will determine how close to the floor it can go. The other thing that got me was the sag in the gate when extended. I'd recommend mounting the bottom bracket on both sides first, then see where the upper brackets want to go.
Works Great August 25, 2008 Gretchen (atlanta GA) I thought this did the job and wasn't too expensive. Never had any problems with pinching fingers and it keeps my 3 year old and 1 year old from falling down the stairs.
