Pointelle cotton is too bulky November 9, 2008

I have bought nearly every baby sleeping bag on the market. I was initially attracted to this product because it is 100% cotton yet it is 2.5 tog (very warm) for the winter months.
I was disappointed because the pointelle cotton is too bulky to be comfortable. My 6 mos old son cannot easily turn over to his side or stomach with all the fabric weight. Also, the shoulders are too wide, so if he wants to lie on his side, the fabric gets in his way. Just look at the baby on the product picture! You can see that the fabric hangs off his shoulders. Stupid design. Older infants don't lie motionless on their backs all night long. My son woke up every couple hours while wearing this because he couldn't get comfortable.
A better product is the Grobag, which is narrow at the top of the sack and shoulder area. It is a good fit and even the 2.5 tog Grobag is lightweight.
