kinder guard November 3, 2008 Anne Marie Zufelt (ma) We bought this gate to go in front of our wood stove. It fits my hearth perfectly. It is big enough to go completely around it. As a play yard it is small. But the door works great and the metal is durable. Love it.
Excellent safe play area October 22, 2008 New Mom to Baby Boy We bought two of these items and linked them together to form a large play area with two gates. The toddler loves the big play area with lots of room to walk and practice the new art of running short distances. We call it the "fort". There are no toe holds for him to use to climb over. Right now, it's tall enough that he can't stand on his toys and try to escape. Our house is older and not baby proof enough so this sturdy product has given us peace of mind and him hours of play without constant adult correction or interference to keep him safe. We are sending two of these superyards to my brother so he can link them and form a large play area at his house for his baby and for my son, when he visits.
Worth the double cost for solid construction September 19, 2008 M. McGrew (Tx) This is completely fantastic. We love the gate, we love the wall mount pieces. We love the extremely sturdy construction. We love the extensibility of it (although the extension should of course be half the listed price). This is serving us well all over the house.
Very sturdy August 1, 2008 S. Liu (New York, NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Our 1 year old daughter is a strong one and would lean up against it. It works like a charm. I bolted down one side to the wall, and slid the other end in between the bookself and the piano. We originally had it so she had a 4 feet by 12 feet of space to play in. But she felt so trapped that I just blocked off the entrance to the kitchen, to bookshelves, and to computer equipment. The design was so flexible that we were able to redo the gates to just block off certain areas. Between each metal panel, you can lock it tight so it doesn't move. The panels can be aligned to about 100 - 180 degree angles. Each set comes with a panel with a door. Each panel is about 1 inch thick. We actually bought two sets since we needed a large area to be blocked off. Well worth the investment over the flimsy plastic ones that break and bend.
Gate is 99% great 1% "what the" July 19, 2008 Robert B. Culbertson (Bor) The gate is very sturdy and easy to modify. I use two of them. One to form a dog corral (I've got three big dogs that would roll over my kids). And I use one to isolate electronic components from the kid. The gate is 99.9% awesome. The one flaw is that if you are going to attach it from one wall to another - one side (the side farthest from the gate) does not secure to the wall very well. That is all. I would still purchase the gate and I would still highly recommend them as well. It was also pretty sweet that Amazon shipped these heavy duty gates for free.
