Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
For moms with more than one child, the imonitorTM is like having an extra set of eyes and an added piece of mind. It comes with two child units and two parent units, making it possible to monitor the safety of two children located in two separate rooms. Dual color sound lights on the parent units allow for easy distinction between the sounds of both children during naptime, playtime and every time in between. Using the compact parent unit, moms can readily adjust the volume level and length of time for which they listen in on each room. With an extended range up to 2,000 feet and a convenient belt clip accessory, mom can run about her daily activities without losing audio on either child.Digital power gives the unit extended range for up to 2,000 feet. The monitor includes two rechargeable batteries and can also use 3 AAA batteries in each child unit for battery back up in case the power goes out in the middle of the night. The docking stations ensure that the units are always ready for use.

2 out of 5 stars fine if you don't mind beeping from your units going out of range   November 17, 2008
B Range (Austin, TX)
I agree with another user that in theory this is the perfect monitor for those with two children that need monitoring. However, for us the dealbreaker was that every time we attempted to use the monitor at some point in less than a 15 minute period it would lose signal and beep that it was out of range. While our child's room is on a different floor, the distance was far less than the up to 2000 ft advertised. We attempted to change the channels a few times, but it didn't seem to make a difference.

There are a few other quirks with the monitor. I wish you could easily mute a room but still monitor with light levels. If your child is being attended to by your spouse you don't need to hear it, but may still want to keep tabs on the activity level.

Anyway, we took back the monitors because the frequent beeping was a dealbreaker for getting a good night's sleep. A monitor shouldn't fuss more than a baby. I'd rather have two different ones that work than a set that can't keep a signal.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty good Monitor   November 16, 2008

Monitor works pretty well. The only problem I have with it is when it switches from room to room one of the rooms is very staticky for some reason... but other than that it works well.

5 out of 5 stars Great monitor, easy set up   October 12, 2008
Naomi
We bought this monitor for our two kids' rooms, and it works great. It was easy to set up and gets good reception. You can choose how long it monitors each room- from 10 seconds to 1 or 2 minutes. These parent units are portable so you can move them around easily if needed. It's nice to be able to monitor two rooms without having to have two separate monitors.

1 out of 5 stars Buy two single room monitors   August 30, 2008

Bought the imonitor for a newborn and a three year old. I have a wireless network and cordless phones. Don't know if that played a part but the receivers kept losing their signal and as a result would beep loudly. Hard to sleep with the monitor losing the signal every five minutes. Returned it and bought another single room monitor for a third of the price that is crystal clear and both monitors monitor each roomm 100% of the time.

5 out of 5 stars great item   August 22, 2008

I decided to risk the bad reviews and buy the imonitor and I'm so glad I did. We have a small house with 2 children and I don't have to even think about the monitors anymore. I have them set to monitor each room for 30 seconds at a time and haven't had to adjust them once since they arrived. If you read the instructions, you will have no trouble setting them up. You do NOT need to know anything about engineering (regarding a previous review). This is a great product for monitoring 2 children or 2 rooms.
