Had for 5 years, just broke. November 14, 2008 John E. Shave (Philadelphia PA) We have 2 little girls. Our oldest is 5 and we have had this since she was born. Although finicky and can be staticky depending on where you put it or if you are on a cell phone or land line. Otherwise it has a good picture and without i wouldn't be able to yell at my 5 yr old for jumping on her bed and rush up to my 4 month olds room when she has the blanket over her head or her little hand caught under her body from rolling over. It gives me a sense of peace when i have it knowing i can watch my daughters to make sure they are safe and sound at nap times and night time. It just stopped working today infact, but we have had it for 5 years. Its a good product.
Worked great for FOUR years August 22, 2008 B. Joseph (Houston, TX USA) We bought this monitor 3-1/2 yrs ago. It has worked very well for us - both the day and night features. We've had the odd breakage in signal...but a little playing around with the controls usually put us back in business within a few minutes. We have moved our residence 3 times in the last 4 years. It has been moved from room to room quite a few times. I would recommend this to anyone....always used w/ AC power.
Step Away from the Monitor June 26, 2008 JMR (Ohio) Bottom line: You don't want this thing. Here's why...first, if you have any kind of radio interference where you live, you can forget about ever using the audio part of this. We had to buy a separate audio monitor and turn the volume all the way down on this one (sort of defeats the purpose of the all in one monitor). Second, you rarely can get a clear picture. I don't mean a little static or the black and white is not crisp, I mean any picture besides a blizzard-like snow pattern. However, on the plus side, if you stand a certain distance and certain angle from the monitor part, you'll get a clear picture. Walk away and it's gone. Now, the angle and distance aren't predictable, so you'll have to experiment each night. You can actually keep your hand on the back of the unit and that also generates a clear picture. Again, don't remove your hand. This is a little awkward at first, when you try to sleep standing up with one arm raised, but you get used to it.
our works fine May 21, 2008 T. Bobick (MD) Ours seems to work ok. It doesn't get great reception on our living room but it's workable. I can see what she's doing from the couch while I watch my shows. The static noice doesn't seem that load to me. the volumn does not seem bad to me unless you turm up the volumn really load. I even run a fan in the babies room and still not much static. I would recommend buying this from Walmart or Babies r us and saving your reciept in case it doesn't work for you. It's hard to return things you've bpught online and TARGET is really strict about thier return policy. Do not buy any baby gear there. I'm serious. Walmart, Kmart and Babies r Us will take things back, no questions asked if you have a reciept and will ussuallt replace or give store credit without a reciept.
Video Monitor April 27, 2008 K. Callison (Tennessee, USA) Summer Infant Day & Night Video Monitor Monitor works well, but field of view is limited. A wider angle lens on the camera would be very helpful. The frequency used by the system will interfere with some mobile phones.
