Product Description Finally, there's a way to protect your children from the dual hazards of heat and fire from barbecues, fireplaces and wood-burning stoves as well as dangerous corners and hard, rough surfaces associated with hearths. The Hearth Gate is the solution for layouts that do not have mounting points straight across. The HearthGate fits hearths 6 ft. wide and 2 ft. deep. Large areas may require additional sections (sold separately). Five interlocking sections adjust in 10 degree increments and can be angled or set in a straight line as needed. Included in the 5-piece basic set is a walk through gate section that opens in either direction with a simple one hand adult release. The Hearth Gate is 29 1/2" high and constructed of strong tubular steel with a black non toxic, heat-resistant finish that is easy to maintain and blends with any decor. Measuring is easy - Simply determine the area to protect or isolate. Place objects at 24" intervals along the line of the intended gate configuration. Count the number of 24" segments to determine number of sections needed. Features: - Fits standard size hearths 6 ft. wide and 2 ft. deep
- Includes 5 interlocking sections
- Walk through gate section opens in both directions
- Simple one hand release
- Made of strong tubular steel
- Stands 29 1/2" high

Hearth Gate December 2, 2008 N. Fitzgerald Great gate, perfect for protecting the children from the fireplace. Solid construction -- worth the price!
Looks great, works great! November 24, 2008 Erica K. Lancaster (Atlanta, GA United States) Friends and neighbors were amazed when we popped this gate up in less than an hour, and it looked completely professional. "That looks so great, much nicer than any baby gate we've ever seen" is a typical remark. We took out 2 sections and have used it to keep our 8 month old away from our wood burning stove. We're using sort of a modified 1/4 octagon shape, which fits our room and stove to a tee. The gate is easy to operate, and secure. Thumbs up!
Great product! November 23, 2008 Kelly R. Mccreary (Steamboat Springs, CO) We purchased this gate because we have a wood burning stove and also a 15 month child. It was easy to set up and we are 100% satisfied with how sturdy it is. Great buy...
Nice quality gate - just as pictured November 19, 2008 Raj Every other baby gate we found was hideously ugly, unless you pay someone to install a custom gate. I used this gate to separate my son's play area from the rest of the house, so I didn't quite use it for the purpose intended, but it worked very well. Only problem for that purpose is that the major part of the gate's stability comes from bending each individual gate - if you run it straight across the room, it will fall over very easily. So I've got zig zagging a bit, but it looks fine. I like it so much I'm buying another one to run along the exterior wall to keep him away from the power outlets and our low windows.
Works for side-loading stoves. November 10, 2008 mgammonz I rearranged the segments of this gate to put the swinging doorway on the last segment. This layout was to accommodate a side-loading wood stove. It was very easy to hook/unhook the segments. Before ordering the product I called Kidco customer service to see whether the gate could be arranged in this fashion and the rep, while helpful, could not give me a solid answer. The answer is, yes, the doorway segment can be anywhere and the gate seems to be just as sturdy and can still be bolted to a wall.
