My Sophie loves Sophie! November 30, 2008 Amanda Baxter (New York, NY United States) This is our second Sophie the giraffe purchase. We left the first one (actually purchased in France) in a NYC taxi. My daughter Sophie loves this toy! She is teething and chews on the giraffe's ears all day. It is easy to wash which is good because it ends up on the floor all the time. If water gets inside the toy the squeaker won't work for a few hours until it dries out but it won't harm the toy.
Best Teether Ever!! November 25, 2008 Julia C. Renstrom (Aptos, CA) I got this for my daughter when she was 3 months old. She took to it immediately. It's really easy to grip for her since both the neck and the legs are skinny enough for her little hands. It's easy to clean and actually really cute. My daughter is now 7 months and has got her first two teeth, and she still absolutely loves chewing on Sophie. Highly recommend this toy!
Best teething toy ever November 23, 2008 Katrina Cubina My son and I loved this so much, we bought 2 more for friends that have babies. It's perfect for his 5 month old grabbing hands and gnawing mouth. I love that is made from natural products.
Inconsistent November 3, 2008 Bethany Jayne (Louisiana) My daughter adored her Le Sophie Girafe, and was teething when we lost it at the store. Though it is quite distinctive and we called that day and several thereafter, no one had turned it in. So, being sensitive to our girl's favorite chewy, we bought another on Amazon. When it arrived, I noticed that it was shorter, squatter, and flimsier than the first. Naturally, it also sounded different when it squeaked. We gave it to my daughter, and while she will ocassionally hold it and whack it on the ground, it is just another toy. It isn't like the other enough to hold her attention. So, if you only buy one and never lose it, it might be a favorite. However, each one may be different.
Just okay for what it is...but my baby likes it! October 25, 2008 Monica Main (Valencia, CA USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I wasn't sure how to rate this item. When I got this giraffe I felt ripped off. It seemed much smaller than in the photo. Then when I took it out of the box and squeezed it, I felt like I spent a fortune on a dog toy. It squeaks like those annoying rubber hot dogs or shoes that you buy for a dog at PetSmart. The rubber is very thin and it smells like a rubber Halloween mask. I find it hard to believe that it's "safe" for the baby to suck on. I gave this 4 stars because my baby likes it, which is the whole purpose in buying it. I didn't give it 5 stars because the price makes it a rip off for what it is. Maybe it's expensive because it was made in France. I don't know... However, this is for my baby daughter. I'm not going to get her a dog toy to play with, even though if I did it would have been a higher quality than this giraffe for about 1/4 the price. But...would you get your baby a dog toy to play with? The idea of doing that is beyond ridiculous and I can't see myself doing that. I'm not going to say this is the greatest baby toy ever but it's slim pickings out there when trying to buy something for a 3-month old that she'll play with, chew on, and actually like. So, I guess this is worth the price tag. Just don't expect too much from it.
