Amazon.com Product Reviews

The BOB Sport Utility stroller is a blessing for active parents. Ultimately a jogging stroller, it is more akin to a mountain bike than a road bike, and the key to its performance is in the suspension and tires. The advanced three-inch suspension utilizes shock absorbers (coil springs with an elastomer core) to provide a gentle ride and has two positions to accommodate bigger and smaller children. The fixed front wheel and 16-inch knobbies make it perfect for both on- and off-road use--minor edges, bumps, rocks, and terrain go unnoticed. The adjustable tracking knob makes steering a breeze and keeps the stroller centered.

Weighing a mere 24 pounds, the frame is made of aircraft-grade aluminum alloy that is lightweight and durable. The padded, stain-resistant seat is soft and cushy, reclines up to 70 degrees from vertical, and has the standard five-point harness to provide maximum stability and comfort. The full sun canopy provides ample shade and protection from the elements for your little passenger, and a front wheel fender shields spray and protects their toes. The canopy window allows you to keep an eye on baby as well. The wheel rims are constructed of high-impact composite polymer, and the hubs feature a quick release axle as well as cartridge bearings. The caliper handbrake slows the stroller with ease, while the foot-activated "parking brake" is simple and handy. Storage is not a problem with twin interior seat pockets, a large below-seat storage basket, and a deep seatback pocket. The two-step fold can be done in one motion, and the lightweight frame makes it portable and stowable. Removing the wheels decreases the height and length when storing in tight spaces. The handlebar height is 41 inches, and the wheel base is 29 inches.

The stroller is able to go anywhere, and the sleek styling and smooth ride give it a luxury feel. But, it's the performance that will win people over. BOB recommends that children be at least eight weeks old before riding in the stroller and at least eight months old before jogging or off-road use. The Sport Utility stroller has a weight capacity of 70 pounds. --Scott Teal

5 out of 5 stars I Love Bob   August 31, 2008
Amy S.
I love my Bob stroller. Everyone loves Bob. Sure, I wish I could have afforded the Revolution, but after a couple of uses you get the hang of how to turn the Sport Utility version. We've taken it on the beach, in the woods, and on streets, and it's been great. I think the big nubby tires are actually better than the ones on the Revolution. Baby is super comfy in it. Opening and closing is easy, and the sunshade works great. It fits in my Accord's trunk with room to spare (though you have to wedge it in there just so).

3 out of 5 stars It doesn't turn at all!   August 24, 2008

You actually have to do a wheely to turn it. As in lift the front wheel up and manually turn it! I gave it a 3 because it went over trails and sand no problem, is well built, and has a hand-break. But I'm getting sick of the front wheel not turning!

5 out of 5 stars Love it!   August 19, 2008

Love it love it love it. We're an outdoorsy family - and I was torn between the SUS or the Revolution. The pivoting wheel is awesome on the Revolution, but we do a lot of hiking on Mt. Rainier and also alot of beach walking - and the SUS is PERFECT for us. I've already taken it out on the beach and it's really just fabulous. My 6 month old son is happy as a clam in it, my 3 year old daughter even looks forward to her own special times in it LOL.

Love it. What more can I say?!?

BOB - y'all need to come up with an interchangeable pivotal front wheel. I'd buy it :)

4 out of 5 stars Prefer the revolution - easier to steer   June 25, 2008
Z. Presnall
the sport utility version is difficult to turn and requires you to use your forearms, both when jogging and walking. the revolution has much better turning capacity. Overall, BOB joggers are the best on the market. we ended up giving up our regular stroller and exclusively use the bob, both indoor and outdoor.
