great car seat - and looks great too. April 25, 2007 Neil Roseman (Seattle, WA USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
we bought this as a second car seat with our Britax. This quickly became #1. It is our son's favorite, and most comfortable. The head & neck rests are great -- it's the best seat we've used for when the kid falls asleep -- no floppy bent neck syndrome :) another thing i like particularly is that it's much less wide than the Britax, so seems to take up less room. But, it is really well padded and secure. it's made the transition from 5-point restraint to belt-positioning booster with ease, and still works great. highly recommended.
Best car seat EVER!!! April 4, 2007 B. Bell (Rose City) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This car seat was a gift from my brother-in-law, and at first I was really sceptical, because he doesn't know the first thing about kids, or their car seats, for that matter. So it got stationed at the in-laws for a while in case they needed a car seat when they were babysitting. Well, long story short, by now we've had a chance to test it out, and our son loves his 'racing' seat, it's far more comfortable than the Evenflo we also own, it has padding everywhere and the head rests are genius - perfect for carsleepers, because their little heads won't be crooked, which helps with sore necks ;) It was really easy to install, and I like the fact that it'll be the last car seat we need (until prospective baby no 2 is old enough to use it, that is). Too bad though it doesn't come in a rear and forwardfacing model, so you can only use it when the kid is old enough to sit in a forwardfacing seat. Other than that - there's no better seat out there!
Like the Recaro! February 26, 2006 Rachel A. Meirose 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
We purchased two of these seats for use in a 2004 Volvo XC-70 and a 2003 Ford F250 crew cab. I was concerned about the overall size of the seat, considering the back seats of both our vehicles is not overly big. My husband is 6'3 and has the seat all the way back. On the other hand, I am 5'6 and have the seat forward a bit more. Doesn't leave much room behind him for a child seat. I was also concerned w/ not hearing much about Recaro. Other, more well known seats, have great reviews, but I wanted to try something different. We have had them for about 2 weeks now and I think they were a great buy. They don't recline as far as other seats, true, but they do go far enough back that our daughter's head will not flop forward when sleeping. They are VERY easy to hook up (LATCH for the Volvo and seat belts for the Ford) and even easier to put a child in and out of. They appear to be built very well and seem sturdier than other seats we looked at. Overall , I would highly recommend these Recaro seats and think we will get much use out of them!
