Not quite perfect but fantastic value for money January 9, 2007

I've long been a fan of the Graco travel systems for their affordability and convenient, mostly easy to use features. The carseat that just pops in and out of the base as well as the stroller was a huge draw for us. Being new parents, we wanted to simplify as much as possible.
My son is now out of the infant seat and, actually, into a forward-facing carseat, so we now use only the stroller part of the travel system. The stroller seat is quite comfortable when walking around the park behind our house, a shopping mall, or any other place that offers open space to maneuver the stroller.
Given the price point of this system, the drawbacks (listed below) are to be expected and, in fact, the system overall definitely exceeds expectations for both quality and performance. Therefore, I've rated it 5 stars. Those folks shopping for something that has more sophisticated features might be a bit disappointed.
Drawbacks of stroller:
1. Steering and maneuverability aren't great, no matter the weight of your child. I definitely cannot steer/push this stroller with one hand and have a tough time even with two.
2. My son wants to sit forward whenever we go for walks so that he have as uninterrupted a view as possible. However, the seat in the stroller does not sit fully upright.
3. The height of the handle bar is not adjustable and a bit high for me (I'm 5'3"). Pushing the stroller on long walks or in crowded areas can get uncomfortable.
4. The cup holder part at the top of the stroller has never correctly aligned with the holes into which it needs to screw to be secured. Therefore, it keeps popping off - more annoying than anything.

I bought this stroller for my grandson. He is only 3 weeks old, but we have already gotten so much use out of it. I love the removable car carrier and the stroller folds up flat for storage. The stroller also has so many compartments for purses, diaper bags, etc. I'm glad I got this stroller.

We ordered this travel system for our first baby and I learned a few valuable lessons during the first 8 months. First, let me say that I love this stroller and I loved this car seat (while it lasted). My son grew out of the car seat in 6 months - he's a BIG boy and 20 pounds came quicker than I expected. The stroller I STILL love to use whenever we go anywhere. With the big wheels and the springy suspension, it's just as easy to push through the mall as it is through the backyard or beach. And the huge basket underneath carries all of his stuff, plus my purse, shopping bags and jackets. And - it's the only stroller I've ever found that I don't have to lean over to push - I'm 5'8". So no sore back no matter how far he wants to go.
BUT - I never once used the car seat and the stroller at the same time as a "system". It was always much easier to just put the car seat in the shopping cart - especially when I was shopping alone and didn't have four arms to push the cart.
And the one-handed fold is great, you just push the button and twist, but if you don't have a good handle on the stroller it'll crash down to the ground at your feet. It folds up nicely and fits snugly in the back of my mini-suv, but doesn't fit well in other people's car trunks. And if it does, you can't fit much else in. Plus - you can't take this stroller on an airplane unless you tie it up and cover it and put it in the checked luggage.
Everyone else I know bought the 40$ or 50$ discount-store strollers and can throw those right in the back seat no problem. They don't understand why I bought the massive "SUV" stroller. And my son doesn't care that his car seat matches his stroller which matches his play pen. But I know that this stroller and this car seat are going to still look great and work perfectly through the next baby and the next baby... while my friends all keep buying new cheapie stuff time after time.

This system is great. It takes up the least room when folded. I first purchased the expensive Eddie Bauer Travel system which was HUGE. I think you would need a pick-up to take that thing any where. We ended up selling the Eddie Bauer system at an online auction after only using it 2 times and bought this. It was a much better system and a bit cheaper as well. Well, this is a great system and we love it in my house. Hope this helps.
