Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Comfortable and secure, our Infant Car Seat has the features parents want most: energy-absorbing foam around the entire shell, easy harness and base adjustments, and a comfy, well-padded seat. Thoughtful extras include a removable infant support and a rounded padded handle that won't scratch your arms. The Advanced Safety Frame is side-impact tested, and has deep side wings for extra side protection. The unique lightweight construction allows the outside dimensions to stay the same, but increases the inside dimensions for the baby's comfort. Features a full EPS foam liner, utilizing the same energy-absorbing EPS foam used in bicycle helmets to provide superior protection. The two separately-attached LATCH points reduces lateral movement of the seat in the event of a side-impact collision. Shoulder belt positions are quickly adjusted without unthreading and rethreading the harness--no more frustrating attempts to reweave belts backs into slots! And, the 5-point padded safety harness features front adjusters for ease of tightening.

1 out of 5 stars Annoying car seat   November 30, 2008
A. Blankenship
Ok so my husband purchased this car seat knowing that our second child was going to be a little on the husky side like his sister. It was supposed to be roomier than your average car seat. During the summer my baby boy was comfy and slept for hours in this car seat. However, once it got cold and we had to put on his winter coat he did not fit (he is only 3 months and we had to put him in a convertable car seat). The straps were on too tight even when I had it as loose as possible. Whoever designed this car seat must be from Florida because the seat is big enough for a husky kid however the straps need extra slack.

Another down side was that the base kept on getting loose on me. I had to keep on tightening the base. Also the base was very difficult to get on and off. I am a pretty strong woman and I had a hard time with the red clamp that is supposed to keep the seatbelt from getting loose. Even my husband (who works out often) had a hard time with the clamp. I say skip it don't waste your money on this one.

5 out of 5 stars Best car seat I ever owned!   October 3, 2008

This car seat is everything I expected it to be and more! It is extremely lightweight and all the buttons, levers, adjustment knobs are all in smart, easily accessible locations. The handle is padded and feels good in my hand. This will be my 4th child and the I-420 is the 4th infant seat I have purchased. It is by far the easiest to use.

5 out of 5 stars Very lightweight carseat!!!!   August 30, 2008

This carseat is exactly what all the other reviews had said. Very comfy padding, more than the other 2 carseats I have owned with my other 2 children and I had a Graco and then Evenflow. Definetly worth every penny. Has a dial on the base to help better level it other than using a swimming noodle like we have used in the past. I can say the only complaint which others have complained about as well is the base is very heavy and kinda big, but you don't normally move it anyway and as long as you aren't driving a very small car it should fit just fine. We have a pathfinder which doesn't have all that much room and a camry and we have no problems with it and I have a booster seat right next to it and it still fits. One of the better carseats that are out there and for the price, it is even a steal. I have researched infant carseats for the last year and I made the right decision.

4 out of 5 stars Great car seat for families on the go   August 23, 2008

We bought this car seat for our grandson before he was born and now our second grandson is riding around in it, snug as a bug. The car seat is so easy to move from vehicle to vehicle, even if that includes moving the base. We bought 2 bases - one for mom and one for dad - but didn't think to get extras for the grandmas and poppas. No worries! The push button latch system is a snap to use. Far easier than any other system or car seat we own.

The 5 point harness is also super easy to adjust over baby's little body. We added a head rest because the one included was too floppy. We also added little comfy shoulder strap covers to protect baby's delicate neck area.

One complaint - the hood comes off the car seat nearly every time it is adjusted. It is a pain to make any adjustments to the hood and it is a very cheap, very un-userfriendly design. Otherwise, this is a perfect little car chair for infants. We love it - all 6 of us.

3 out of 5 stars too big for a jetta   October 17, 2007

i got this to go with my zippy stroller, but i wish i knew how big it was. there is no way anyone with a smaller car can use this without rendering the front seat useless. bummer, cuz it seems like a great seat! very nice looking.
