Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Belt positioning boosters are the biggest advancement in child safety in years. Automobile seat belts are designed for children above 57" tall. The First Years Compass B510 Booster Car Seat has a five-star Ease of Use rating. The First Years Compass B510 Booster Car Seat was one of only two high back booster seats to receive five stars and the only seat to receive five stars in every category to date under the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) new Ease of Use rating system. Safety advocates suggest that your child ride in a booster as long as possible. Most states have enacted legislation to keep children in boosters until ages 6 to 8 years.

But, what it takes to keep an older child content is not the same as baby. This is an age when children are busy in activities and moms, dads and grandparents are all involved in dropping off and picking up the children. The Compass Deluxe Folding Booster Car Seat provides the answers for both you and your child.

The patented folding features take moving the seat from car to car and storing in the trunk to a new level of convenience. It's not just for travel, it is a seat that fits your daily lifestyle. Deluxe padding will keep your child comfortable and content, even on long trips. Rotating arm rests make installation easier because the belt path is clear. The rotating arm rests also improve the ease of use because children have an easier time crawling in and out by themselves.

The back support stays fully enclosed as the height is adjusted. This means side support and protection in every position. The head rest has a full EPS foam (bicycle helmet foam) liner to absorb energy in an impact. And the deeper side wings provide additional protection for your child. The six-position height adjust will grow with your child.

Features:

  • Narrow bottom rails allow the seat to fit into sculpted bucket seats even in small cars
  • Taller, higher belt path (2") to

5 out of 5 stars Great Booster!   October 5, 2008
J. Dever (Saugus, California United States)
We have three of these for our kids. They really work well, are comfortable and when needed, easy to fold up. We love it! The newer models come with a carrying case (great for air travel) and deeper headrests.

5 out of 5 stars Very comfy   September 29, 2008
nursing mom
My 4 1/2 y/o daughter loves her booster seat. She says it's very comfy and likes that she can buckle herself in. It's light and I love that it folds for storage and traveling. The only issue we have is the fact that the seat belt tends to twist. We have a Chrysler minivan and the booster chair is in a free standing seat, so there's a lot of seat belt to twist. I'll keep my daughter in her Radian 65 for a bit longer since it is safer and use the Compass in others' cars or when we travel.

5 out of 5 stars Portable and secure   September 26, 2008
Mark Hren (Olmsted Falls, OH USA)
Really like this booster seat - I like how easy it is to fold up and move from one car to another. Can't beat a five star safety rating -- why would anyone buy a booster that didn't have the highest possible safety rating?

5 out of 5 stars my 4 sons   September 6, 2008
Jo B. (Maryland)
I purchased two of these seats for my five year old twins. I love that they come right out of the box and into the car. They are well made, solid booster seats. I tried out two other seats before settling on the Compass. I was not happy with the Graco made boosters. Compared to the Compass they appear to be cheaply made: flimsy plastic and fabric, frabric on the head rest and back rest never stayed in place and the seats needed to be completely put together (screws and everything). I researched boosters and found that the reviews and standards for the Compass were fabulous. Amazon definitely has the lowest price (so far).

4 out of 5 stars Comfortable booster   August 29, 2008
Daniela
I bought this Booster seat a couple months ago for my 5 year old boy, and it seems to be very comfortable and sturdy compare to some other brands. However, the fabric is the polyester, not exactly what I wanted. I like the velvety fabric, but that model dosn't come in grey colors
(to mach my car interior).
I had to give up color or fabric.
Overall I'm happy with this purchase.
