Amazon. com Product Description
Keep your child safe and secure in the car with the Frontier Harness-2-Booster seat from Britax. Loaded with comfort and safety features, the Frontier is ideal for children ready to transition from their convertible car seat. It accommodates a weight capacity of up to 80 pounds in forward-facing, and serves as a vehicle belt-positioning booster for children weighing up to 100 pounds. The Frontier is also certified for air travel.

The Frontier can accommodate children up to a 100 pounds. View larger.
Easy Installation and Adjustment
The safety of your child depends on the correct installation of his or her car seat. That's why the Frontier offers a truly parent-friendly design for quick and easy set-up and adjustment. First, the premium push-button LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) connectors ensure a fast, simple and tight installation so you know your child is secure. The tangle-free, five-point harness has eight harness heights you can adjust with one hand, and three buckle positions for a snug and secure fit. For added convenience, the headrest adjusts quickly without requiring you to re-thread the straps.

True Enhanced Side Impact Protection for Peace of Mind
The Frontier also gives you additional peace of mind by featuring engineered true side impact protection. Deep side walls and head support provide advanced shock-absorption and cushioning in side impact collisions, helping to reduce the risk of injury. Additionally, EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) impact foam lining around baby's head and torso absorbs energy in side and rear impacts, cradles baby's head to keep it away from protruding parts, cushions violent side to side movements, and creates a comfortable resting spot.

Safe for Growing Children
Besides True Enhanced Side Impact Protection, the Frontier boasts other advanced safety features that provide optimum protection. Most importantly, the patented Versa-Tether fastens the top of the car seat to factory installed automobile anchor points, reducing the possibility of a head injury. This system also allows for rear-facing tethering to help keep the seat stable.

Comfort and Convenience
Car trips should be pleasant, and the Frontier has everything your child needs to relax and enjoy the ride. Dual cup holders are great for sippy cups, snacks and toys, while the armrest invites your little one to sit back and watch the world go by. Comfort foam helps make naptime cozy and restful, too, by supporting your child's neck and head in a comfortable position.

The Frontier is designed to be used in the forward-facing position, with the harness, when children are two years old and weigh between 25 and 80 pounds, with a standing height of 30 to 53 inches. The booster is intended for children weighing 40 to 100 pounds and with a standing height of 42 to 60 inches.

The Frontier measures 19.5 x 22.0 x 26.5 inches (WxHxD) and weighs 23.5 pounds.

4 out of 5 stars Good Carseat   September 1, 2008
S. Segrest (Jackson, MS United States)
This is a good carseat. I feel like my daughter is really safe. We have a Britax Roundabout and the Frontier is definately not as easy to install. If you read the manual it will take about 10 minutes. If you don't read the manual, it will take much longer. It is not something you want to have to move from car to car frequently. But overall, we are very happy with it.

3 out of 5 stars not for kids under 4   September 1, 2008
2boysmommy (Atlanta)
I got this one because of lots of good reviews. But found out it's not quite a nice fit for a 2yr old. My son is almost 3 and he's tall for his age but it's uncomfortable for him because Frontier's seat is long(bottom where you rest your leg) he has to straight his legs all the time, which hurts his back because of this posture. Beware, this car seat may be good for older kids, but because they made it so it can be used for a long time, it's still too big for todder, preschooler.

5 out of 5 stars Absolutely awesome   August 28, 2008
Suzanne Babcock (Fort Bragg, CA USA)
This car seat is easy to take in and out, seems very comfortable for my grandson, he loves the cup holders. The seat belts have a "click" to them so they tighten by ratcheting. Very cool.

3 out of 5 stars Best design ever, but not up to my high expectations   August 28, 2008

We bought it because it's the only one in the market for up to 80 lbs w/5 point, and up to 100 lbs in booster mode. Much more sturdier and kid friendly than I though. Excellent side and head support.Very heavy and wide. Ideal for a captain chair in a minivan. 5 star rating in this.

Areas for improvement is the latch adjustment. Even pulling from the inside of the seat, the quick release attachment is too bulky and interfere with the back rest. After a long hard fight, you can get it tight. Removal is a snap thought. Excellent back strap LATCH. 4 star rating in this.

Areas to DRAMATICALLY improve, are the cup holder design, that once fully fit the seat, they open due to the pressure of the seat cushion itself. Not easy to fold or open. And the only low quality feature, is the cheap plastic buckle on the chest of the five point harness...miserable, and I'm fear it may break with the use. From my point of view, this piece is worth a recall due to the critical of it's function. 1 star rating on these two items.

(Installed on a 2006 Chrysler Town&Country Limited)

5 out of 5 stars This car seat rocks and is easy to install....   August 24, 2008
M. Kiracofe (Baltimore, MD)
I was so nervous about purchasing this seat after reading all of the horror stories written on this and many other web sites. I currently own the Boulevard but was in the market for another seat. I installed the Frontier in a 2007 Volvo XC90. I didn't find that it was any more difficult than my Boulevard (which was a BREEZE!!!). The first thing I did was take a look at the seat and get a lay of the land...which you should ALWAYS do. Then I looked at the manual. It all seemed fairly straight forward. I used the anchors to install it in my 2nd row of seats. MY XC90 has a 3rd row. My husband did help me tighten the straps although that was only because I have a back injury (unrelated to the installation! :)) But it's very secure. I don't think I could move it an inch. The cup holders work well and my son seems to be happy in it. He's 2 and is a fairly tall boy. Over 36". So, I'm not sure where people ran into issues. If you can use your anchors then it will install very easily. So don't believe all the hype!!! I love it!!
