Amazon.com Product Description
Keep your child safe and secure in the car with the Triumph Advance LX, Harbortown from Evenflo. Designed for children two to 35 pounds in rear facing, and 20 to 50 pounds and up to 50 inches tall in forward facing, this convertible car seat allows your child to stay in a 5-point harness over a year longer than traditional car seats with a 40-pound rating, which helps keep your child safer as he grows.

The Evenflo Triumph Advance LX car seat offers:
  • Forty-pound rating.
  • Easy harness adjustment thanks to InfiniteSlide system.
  • Multi-position recline for extra comfort and flexibility.

The InfiniteSlide harness lets you easily adjust the harness.
Infinite Slide Harness Adjustment
The Harbortown meets or exceeds all U.S. safety standards, making it a smart, reliable choice. One of its key safety features is the InfiniteSlide harness system which allows you to change the harness height by simply sliding the red tabs up and down. This system also does not require re-threading, saving you time and decreasing the chance of improper positioning. Additionally, the 5-point harness easily tightens with a quick turn on the TensionRight knobs on each side of the seat.

Proper Positioning for a Safe, Comfortable Ride
Proper positioning of your child in the car seat is extremely important, not only for his or her comfort, but also to ensure optimum safety and protection. That's why the Harbortown has a multi-position recline and removable body pillows to surround baby in soft support. Two buckle straps accommodate growing children by being easy to adjust, and the EPP foam liner helps absorb energy to maintain proper positioning in the case of sudden or jarring movement.

There's even a removable, flip-down cup holder to hold your child's favorite drink in a convenient location that they can easily access. This holder also folds out of the way when not in use. The Harbortown also offers perks for parents, including a machine washable pad that's a snap to remove and clean. Easy to install and adjust, the Harbortown features a parent-friendly design that's durable, reliable and, most importantly, safe.

5 out of 5 stars Great so far...........   October 12, 2008
Suzane (Downingtown, Pennsylvania)
I have had this evenflo carseat a little over 2 months now, and it is working out great! VERY EASY to adjust straps! Safety is wonderful! I would recommend!

5 out of 5 stars Big and Beautiful!   October 10, 2008
R. C. Ratliff (Montana)
After playing with the demo model at the store and reading other reviews, we ordered the Harbortown model. First: It's nearly black, which is perfect for us. 2nd, it's HUGE! We're talking 6" from my van ceiling when installed. For me, that's not necessarily a bad thing, but it does make the baby mirror useless. On the other hand, I can easily see that the straps will adjust and the seat will accommodate the child to the specified poudage.
The easy adjusting straps have already come in handy as cold weather is coming in.

I can see why someone who has a very tiny baby might not like this; my 5 month old is sitting almost straight up. She loves it, but is not as inclined to sleep in it as she was her "infant carrier". A tiny baby might find themselves falling forward a little if they don't have head control yet. Overall, though, GREAT!

5 out of 5 stars Great   October 10, 2008
DM (Woolwich, NJ)
Loved this carseat so much we bought a second one for our other car. Bought the first one back in April, bought the second one in September. Very easy to get our son in and out of. The only problem I had is putting it rear-facing in my SUV, it has wrap around bucket seats and the controls were not easy to use. Fortunately we only had it rear facing for a short time and now that it is forward-facing it is very easy to use. Love it and would buy it again!

5 out of 5 stars Great car seat   October 10, 2008
J. M. Yowell (Leesburg, VA)
This is a great seat. It is easy to adjust and comfy for my 8 month old. The one thing I noted is that it is considerably larger than the one my 3 year old has of the same model that we purchased 2+ years ago. Not a bad thing, just something I noticed.

So far, I have had 2 issues with the car seat. The shoulder straps are uneven and I'm not quite sure how it happened since they were even when I first installed it. Also, I felt like the latch system didn't stay tight when I used it, so I switched to using my shoulder seatbelt with the locking clip.
Car: I drive a Mazda 3. The seat fits great in the middle position (which it the safest anyway). It actually allows the front seat to be further back than my old Graco Snugride did.
Baby: My daughter is 10 1/2 months and we've owned the seat for 2 months.
Shoulder Straps: I love the way they adjust for height. There is no slipping the straps through holes, you simply shift them up to the next level when baby gets longer.
Adjusting the Straps: Like the ability to adjust using the knob. So far I haven't had any issues with loosening the straps when I need to. I did notice you need to turn the knob BEFORE pulling on the straps to loosen them.
Comfort: Seat seems to be comfortable. The buckle does not pinch her legs which some other people complained about. Her feet just touch the back seat of the car. This seat isn't suitable for younger babies. It sits up too straight. My daughter does not like sleeping in it. She stayed awake for a 40 minute drive at 10pm instead of sleeping in it. Of course, she hates sleeping in the car anyway, but she does sleep better in my husband's Cosco Scenera. Other than sleeping in it, she enjoys the ride.
Wear and Tear: We use the belt clip for this seat so we never remove it from the vehicle. So far, no wear and tear on the fabric or mechanisms.
