Meal on the Go October 9, 2008 Michelle McComb (New Canaan, CT) We bought this hook on high chair to take with us when travelling or visiting family and friends away from home where no high chair was available for our infant daughter. This has been terrific. Easy to assemble and to take anywhere. It's also comes in handy when friends with infants/toddler come to visit us, we now have the extra chair to use. It doesn't fit all tables though and can be a little tricky given particular tables, but definitely more useful that not! Definitely recommend for the parents on the go!
Not a good investment September 20, 2008 Jacqueline Kim 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this chair after much consideration and research. Even though many - or it seemed like most - of the reviews were very favorable, I found the chair flawed for the following reasons: 1. Security Risk: The straps do not tighten enough to keep a restless child secure in the seat. My daughter got out of it easily simply by standing up. Had we taken our eyes off her for even a second, she might have fallen onto the floor. 2. Mess Factor: There is a huge gap - four inches or so - between the seat and the table, allowing food to fall onto the floor very easily. This seat is however the only one on the market that fits tables with a wide skirt - which is partly why I bought it. So if you must have one that fits a table with a wide skirt, this might be your only choice. You would have to watch your child very, very carefully. I am returning the seat.
Misleading picture but satisfactory product September 1, 2008 Joelle Brown The picture on the box/website makes this portable chair look like it folds up like an umbrella. It does not. The underside braces fold sideways and inwards, so the chair is flat horizontally, however there is nothing keeping them folded. I keep this chair at our friends' house, so we don't have to port it, and it stores perfectly well. However, I would not recommend this chair to use in and out of a restaurant because it does not fold small nor stay folded. On the plus side, it is very strong. On our friend's stable table, the chair does not move, and I have every confidence of our toddler moving around in it.
hook on chair August 29, 2008 clairecelest (austin, tx) The chair itself works great. My only complaint there is that sometimes I cant get the adjustable knob underneath to unlatch, so that gets frustrating. The other thing I don't like about it is the canvas-y material that the seat is made of is hard to wipe clean. Food gets all smashed into the little graininess of the fabric and you wipe and wipe and it looks like you got it clean, but when it dries later you can still see stuff crusted into the fabric. Luckily, once through the washer gets it really clean, but for day-to-day cleaning its kind of a pain.
Good little chair July 28, 2008 E. Larson versatile and handy. A bit cumbersome for one person to open and hook, but once you get the hang of it, it's definately worth it. It works nicely around large lips on the edge of tables. GREAT VALUE!
