| Customer Reviews:
makes pumping and storage so much eaiser July 19, 2008 Deb Dee (San Francisco) Pros and Cons with this product - but the pros outweigh the cons by far. PRO: It's the only bag I know of that you can attach right to the pump and avoid the extra step of pouring out of bottles when you are done. This saves precious time when pumping at work! I also like the flared bottom that allows me to stand the bag up on the counter. CON: I'm sure this is the same with all freezer storage bags. If there is any milk in the seam when you freeze it can lead to leaking and spilling when defrosting. If you are going to freeze it, make sure to dry the zip lock seam with a tissue or papertowel before you close it and double check the seal. Once I figured that out, I did not have any problems.
Better than most... January 18, 2008 S. Mulcahy (Midwest, USA) I have found these bags to be extremely accurate... not sure how the previous poster was measuring, but I put this bag on my liquid food scale and filled it to the 4 oz. mark and it was right on; it weighed 4 oz. on the nose. I agree that the area to write on is small and difficult to write on with anything except a Sharpie or other permanent marker (ball point or roller ball pen don't work well) and I've had the strap holding the bag to the shield break a few times, which was inconvenient. I will continue to use these bags and recommend them to others but I will advise about those two items.
Not as good as I had hoped for December 14, 2006 Sharyl Felice (Hollister, CA United States) 15 out of 16 found this review helpful
I found these bags to be hard to tear straight on the perforation. Also, they have a very small area to write on. They do stand up and seal well and are pretty easy to attach to the breast shields. I was using the Medela bottles to pump in and then putting it into the Gerber storage bags. I thought it would be easier to pump straight into the bag while at work, but later realized that pumping straight into the bag does not allow you to get an accurate measurement of how much milk you have pumped. So, I am back to pumping into the bottles and then using these bags for storage. I think I will just buy the cheaper Gerber bags when these are gone.
