Great baby food product! October 3, 2008 J. Horton (NH) I love this whole system! It's made making baby food so easy. I bought these extra trays because I make quite a bit of food at one time and could use the extra trays. If you want to make your own food, get this book and these trays...you won't be sorry.
Just an expensive ice cube tray with a lid... October 1, 2008 L. Donalds (Massachusetts) My set of trays were given to me by someone who got them as freebies, but she didn't have a baby and thought I'd make better use of them. Certainly making pureed baby food and storing it frozen in cube form is very convenient, but I do *not* find these "Fresh Baby" trays to be any better than using regular ice cube trays. I do find the trays to be more stiff than my other regular trays, so I have to let them sit on the counter for a few minutes first before I can twist/flex them to get the cubes out. So far I haven't had any problems with the lids snapping properly, as some others have commented, but I also remove the food from the trays after a couple hours when it is frozen and store the cubes in another container. Since I do that, it doesn't even matter that they have lids. In my opinion, save your money and use regular ice cube trays instead.
Good idea, but a little bit of a hassle September 23, 2008 cvb (WI) This product is a good idea, but each cube only holds half of what is described, as some others have also observed. Also, I am only able to get a few of the already- smaller- than -stated cubes in a bottle. You will have to thaw your milk cubes in another vessel prior to putting them in a bottle so you get the ounce amount that baby will need.:( It will work to save on buying storage bottles, but is more hassle than I was hoping for.
very helpful! September 14, 2008 rathgrith (Southern California) First of all, each cube is about 1/2 an ounce, not an ounce as the description says. But this is a great product! I can freeze my pumped milk in smaller portions, so that we don't defrost too much at a time, leading to less waste. The trays are covered, which keeps freezer funk from getting to the milk. They've been fine on the top rack of my dishwasher, and having two of them works out great so I can use one and clean one at a time.
Product description lie May 16, 2008 Melrose Mom (Melrose, MA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The product description claims that each cube in these trays holds one ounce of baby food or breast milk. That is simply not true. Each cube holds one half of an ounce (1 Tablespoon) not an ounce (2 Tablespoons).
