Disappointing! November 22, 2008 B. Willard (Newport Beach, CA USA) this product worked great for the first couple weeks but then the warming plate started to rust. I clean it after every use and have even cleaned it with CLR but it keeps rusting. I wouldn't recommend this product at all.
Great steam sterilizer November 17, 2008 Kimberly Cain (Tallahassee, FL United States) I purchased this sterilizer a couple of weeks ago and have had no problems with it yet. I run it at least four times a day. The sterilizer has two trays for bottle accessories and breast pump accessories and two "holders" for bottles (one for wide bottles and another for regular sized bottles). If you have 9oz wide bottles and are using the wide bottle holder, you can only use one of the trays which is a problem when you have many things to sterilize at a time.
Works as described October 31, 2008 M. Cunha I have had this unit for almost a month and it works great. I have had no problems with it. The trick, which is really no trick at all, is to read the instructions before you use it! In the instructions it says that you must allow the plate to cool at least 15 minutes between cycles. You cannot run it twice in a row without time to cool. It also notes that you should clean it once a week to remove hard water build up. I use bottled water so I don't have this problem. As for the condensation, this is a STEAM sterilizer, not a dry heat sterilizer. It is not like a dishwasher where plain heat is used to dry your items. It only uses steam. If you expect this of your sterilizer, purchase a dry heat unit. I purchased this item because in the country I am living in currently, the safety of the water is questionable. We don't want any leftover washing water on her eating/drinking utensils and we do not have a dishwasher to sterilize for us. In my opinion, it gets the job done: it steams the items (I can fit in three Nuby sippy cups which have attached handles along with the covers and straw pieces) to kill bacteria. The leftover water is sterile, so I have no concern about it; I just shake the cups to get the droplets out and use the cup. I would recommend this product to anyone who will take the time to read the instructions and properly care for the unit.
Poor Item October 23, 2008 Karen A. Green (Fort Myers, FL) The item is very attractive BUT within two of use, the metal base started to rust. I called the company and they were trying to pass it off repeatedly as 'mineral deposits' as if I don't know rust. Anyway I am the point where after minutes of trying to convince them, they agreed for me to return it so we will see. I find this sort of customer service ridiculous!!!
Serves its purpose September 16, 2008 J. Broadley (Darkharbor, California) I use the Playtex Drop-Ins bottle system to feed my baby, so I needed a better and safer alternative than boiling to sterilize the nipples and such. I chose this particular steam sterilizer, since it seemed to be the easiest to use, it got good reviews and would work for what I needed it for. I like this a lot, it saves time and sterilizes like it's supposed to. The things that I don't like is that it's not large enough to fit the bottles (I thought it was a lot larger and was kind of disappointed at how small it was when it arrived), only the caps, nipples, closing rings, pacifiers and other small items. It doesn't have a drying feature, so like with boiling, I have to wait till everything cools down and air drys before I can use anything.
