Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
UltiVent widemouth bottle system is designed to be as close to breast-feeding as possible in a reusable bottle. The orthodontic nipple is made of ultra soft silicone and encourages baby to use a natural suckling action similar to breast-feeding. The UltiVent valve is sensitive enough to ensure baby a constant, air free flow of liquid. Bottle can be disassembled for easy cleaning. Three-pack includes 2 pink bottles and 1 yellow bottle. Recommended for ages Birth+.

3 out of 5 stars Nice design, some flaws   November 19, 2008
alanamoana (Silicon Valley, CA)
I saw a friend with these bottles and as the BPA scare was in full effect, I stopped using other bottles and bought these as they're advertised as BPA-Free. They're fine and attractive enough (not that that's very important in a bottle). They are a bit fiddly as there are six pieces to each bottle. That's six individual items to wash every time you use one...it's a lot of dish work! Because the venting system is on the bottom (a silicon gasket that works as a one-way valve letting air into the bottle as baby drinks), even a slight misalignment can cause a slow leak to happen. As careful as I am in assembling the bottles, I still occasionally end up with a leaker. It is kind of frustrating. Also, because of the extra base piece, warming a bottle in hot water (as most people do) is a messy project. The bottom piece fills with water along the threading and sort of just drips water. I ended up wrapping the bottle in a cloth diaper so that it wouldn't leak all over my daughter. We just stopped warming in the bottle. We'd put the breast milk or formula in another container to warm it and then pour it into the bottle for feeding...MORE DISHES!! This sort of keeps us from pre-making bottles at night for our daughter as that would mean heating them...too much trouble and mess. We just make every bottle as we need it.

Still easier to clean than Dr. Brown's though!

5 out of 5 stars These are GREAT Bottles!   November 3, 2008
Jess (Sunny, South Florida)
I loooove these bottles. The nipple is wide and prevents "nipple confusion" for my daughter, she sorta has to latch on to the nipples on these bottles just as she would when I nurse her, so yes they are great for breastfeeding babies. The nipple on the bottles ARE actually silky and soft. Also I do not know the mechanics that allows this bottle to have a specific airflow..... but my daughter does not get gassy at all.So for that these bottles get 5 stars, they are awesome. I researched for hours before I finally bought these and I am very happy with my purchase.

*I also want to add that I've have noooo leaking problems, all you have to do is make sure you put the bottles together right, which is very easy. Once you do that there is no leaking.

5 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT!   September 17, 2008
momandcrew (Indiana USA)
My daughter was FINALLY taking a Soothie bottle without much trouble then I learned about BPA. Off to find a new bottle. I tried Green To Grow and Think Baby. Both brands she had trouble with the nipple sucking into the bottle just a couple of sucks into it. So I tried Mam. I read mixed reviews, but the only real complaint I saw was leaking if they were not assembled correctly. While I can see how this might be a problem, we have not had a problem with it. There are more pieces than a normal bottle, but she isn't sucking the nipple into the bottle, I am confident that the bottle is getting clean, there is no BPA and I can hear the vent system working. Lovin' these bottles!

5 out of 5 stars Very good bottle, easy to use   September 8, 2008

Obviously my baby likes it. However, one thing to notice is that if you want to thoroughly clean the bottle, you need to assemble it carefully, otherwise it will leak.

1 out of 5 stars Don't buy Mam bottles!   July 8, 2008

I bought the MAM bottles because they were BPA free. I also bought them despite the reviews that said they could be difficult to assemble, had many parts, and could leak frequently. I thought, "How hard could it be to assemble a bottle correctly???" Apparently it takes more than a college degree to get them assembled correctly every time, and I am sick and tired of the surprise drenching we get from time to time. You put them together and hope against hope that this won't be the 2 a.m. feeding where you end up changing your half awake baby (turned wet, screaming, and totally alert baby) and yourself because some seal wasn't completely lined up appropriately. I hate these bottles! The 5 separate parts (6 if you count the lid) do make more work for washing, and the individual parts are such large and awkward sizes that there's no convenient way to arrange them in the dishwasher or to store later. Evenflo makes an inexpensive, cute, and BPA free bottle that is normal, functional, and doesn't leak. MAM shouldn't have reinvented the wheel.
