1 out of 5 stars Destroyed a Great Product   November 22, 2008
Zilla's Mom (Pasadena, California United States)
In a miss guided attempt at being "green" Diaper Dekor has destroyed a great product. Not only did they effectively raise the price by 33% (going from 3 bags to two in the box) but they also created a product that no longer stops smells.

1 out of 5 stars Bad Move   November 22, 2008
H. Smith (Seattle, WA United States)
I ditto everyone else's complaints. I'm just going to keep the container and try putting in regular heavy plastic garbage bags. I just can't stomach buying another box of these new refills when they are so awful.

What were they thinking???

4 out of 5 stars Better than anything else on the market!!!   October 12, 2008

I was disgusted at the number of negative responses to these bags. I'm on my third child and have used the Diaper Genie and the Diaper Champ. This far exceeds those. The amount of people that commented on "who cares if they are biodegradable" is astonishing. GET A GRIP PEOPLE! Every little thing helps. You might as well tell your children you don't care what kind of world we are leaving for them. And for those of you who think there are no biodegradable disposable diapers...try diapers.com and check out Nature Babycare-completely biodegradable disposable diapers. They are amazing, even overnight. (My baby is 8 months old) I wouldn't use Pampers, Huggies, etc. if someone gave them to me now. Even Earth's Best and Seventh Generation are only environmentally friendly-not completely biodegradable. I think this is a huge step in the right direction--WAY TO GO DIAPER DEKOR!

4 out of 5 stars get 'em cheaper   September 24, 2008

after reading all the bad reviews I googled the diaper dekor and found the refill for a lot cheaper on drugstore[dot]com

Love the diaper dekor plus used it for four kids now, disappointed at what I'm reading about the refills

1 out of 5 stars The new bags are terrible!   September 22, 2008

Could the new biodegradable bags be any more terrible? I have been using this system for a little over a year and loved it. It kept the smells inside the can and out of my nostrils. I recently had to get the new refills and it's been downhill ever since.

1. Why have biodegradable bags when MOST people don't use biodegradable diapers. Yep, biodegradable diapers are an option and a few companies sell them. I think most people find them to be cost prohibitive to buy on a regular basis. Why not go with what the MAJORITY of people use. Did Diaper Dekor study that in their focus groups?

2. Something about the biodegradable bag DOES NOT keep the smell in. It's disgusting.

3. The same box only contains 2 refills now instead of 3. The 2 are a little bit cheaper, but I'd rather just have the old ones!

It would be great if they gave the biodegradable bag as an OPTION, but not force all of us to use it. Now I have a worthless can with worthless refills and a kid who's almost out of diapers. But, I will probably go buy a different brand of diaper can because I can't stand how much this one now sucks. What a waste.

I encourage you to give your feedback to the makers of Diaper Dekor. You can do so on their website. I got this response back: "In our focus groups, there have been no differences in the effectiveness between the old Dekor refills and the new Dekor biodegradable refills." I think they need to come to Amazon and read some of these reviews!
