Strange black spots? November 15, 2008 Amy R. Zuckerman (Portland, OR) We originally purchased this item for our son 3 years ago but by the time our daughter was born 7 months ago the pad had developed several strange black spots. We weren't sure if it was some sort of mildew or mold or what, so we played it safe and purchased a new one for her. However, after the first time I washed the new pad and hung it to air dry, I noticed two of the black spots on IT! A mysterious red patch has since appeared. We have NO idea what these spots are. Otherwise we really like the pad and it gives us peace of mind, but I'm still wondering what causes the discoloration???
EXCELENT CHOICE March 27, 2007 Ivelisse K. Peralta (Miami, FL) I bought this safe padded sheet for my four month baby, it's perfecto to safe the sheet and breathe. Good quality, and nice price.
Do not use this item- crib death danger December 23, 2006 Smartgirl (USA) 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
If you research the toxic gas theory for crib death (which has been around for 15? years) you will see that this item can produce toxic nerve gases just like crib mattresses can. This product is not safe at all, no matter what they call it. Get a BabeSafe mattress cover to prevent toxic nerve gases from getting to your baby, and use only 100% cotton on top of that (between your baby and the mattress cover). Do not use polyester fleece or acrylic blankets or comforters and use 100% cotton blankets. Run from this product!
RETURNED PAD - LEFT MESH IMPRINT ON FACE December 16, 2006 Jeremy's Mommy (Dallas, TX) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The "Breathe Safe Padded Sheet" also left a mesh imprint on my baby's face. Placing a sheet over the Breathe safe pad defeats the purpose of lessening the current routine: 1) Untying bumper guard & moving it out of the way 2) Struggling to "pull" out heavy mattress from crib 3) Removing & washing sheet & mattress pad 4) Wiping off mattress with soap & water 5) Replacing sheet & mattress pad 6) Returning heavy mattress to crib 7) Re-arranging dust ruffle 8) Re-tying bumper guard Other than that, it seemed like a good idea. Searching for a better product.
A Must Have! June 13, 2006 M. Dawkins (San Diego, CA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
You said it New Mommy from Maryland, I can't understand the below comments. This product is a must have, do yourself a huge favor and buy two of them, trust me you will only thank yourself at 2am! Worth every penny! After washing mine they smelled like downey and felt soft. My crib mattress fits so snug and tight that I can't lift it out of the crib to put a new crib sheet on the mattress. I have had mine for 3 years now and they have held up very well.
