5 out of 5 stars Best nontoxic, chemical-free baby mattress   August 9, 2008

Most baby mattresses contain a whole host of noxious chemicals, including PBDE, PVC, etc. This mattress contains none of those nasty chemicals and use healthy alternatives. I bought this for my son as well as for my nephew-on-the-way. It's certainly more expensive, but I felt it was worth it for the peace of mind and the health of my child. Plus, I can use it for the next one and share it with my sisters when their baby time comes.

5 out of 5 stars Great investment for baby and toddler   August 4, 2008

After I learned about all of the toxic materials and chemicals in traditional crib mattresses, I was determined to find an organic alternative. This mattress is a great choice. It is firm and fits very snugly in the crib. (I have to lift the mattress out to change the sheets)
It is also waterproof with a food grade polyethelene covering. It doesn't have any bad chemical smell either.

I wanted to find the same type of mattress for my porta-crib and bassinet, but was disappointed to find that these products use different materials. I ordered the porta-crib mattress in a custom size. First, it didn't fit (was smaller than the measurements I provided). So they sent another one in their standard size. I don't like this one because it is too soft. The covering is different than the crib mattress and it seems to have air trapped in it. The ends are firmer than the middle. I don't recommend the porta-crib or bassinet sizes due to this issue. It would be great if they made them just like the crib mattress.

I have had such a hard time figuring out the differences between all the new baby mattresses available on the market. I found Naturepedic's website to have some really helpful information and their customer support person really took the time to answer my questions and concerns. We have been very pleased with this purchase!

I cannot emphasize how amazing this company's customer service was.
My husband and I moved to a new area, and until we sell our house, we had to leave most of our things behind, including the essentials such as our crib/crib mattress.
So we needed to buy a new crib and mattress FAST.
I wanted to buy an organic mattress, but the price and speed of the delivery always kept me away.... until now.
I received this mattress within 3 days of placing the order.
It was free shipping and the cost was not that much more than a regular mattess.
I can't wait to try it out. I have heard amazing things about organic mattresses. This one looks fabulous!!!

I would definitely suggest buying a mattress from this company. They are extremely pleasant and very very helpful. The woman I dealt with made sure that our mattress would arrive by the end of the week!

5 out of 5 stars seriously fabulous crib mattress   April 15, 2008

My daughter slept better on this mattress the very first time that we put her down on it (and that's saying something, since she didn't want to sleep anywhere else but between us on our king size bed). It's been about 11 months since then, and she sleeps fabulously on this mattress. I can't recommend it highly enough.

I appreciate that it's organic - and that there are no harmful chemicals - and that it is still fire-resistant.

I think the coil system is far more comfortable than the foam (which she had before) - and it still provides extremely firm support.

It's pricey, yes, but the return to civilized life (a.k.a. when she started sleeping through the night) was worth just about any price.

I'm now about to buy a second one for my next baby!
