The Regent is designed for larger children, up to 80 pounds. (Huntington color shown.) ,br>View larger. | Quick and Easy Installation The Regent features a tangle-free, five-point harness made with rough and tough polyester that's designed to resist wear and tear. The push-button LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) connectors help secure your child on every trip. The harness also attaches quickly and easily so you won't have to worry about struggling with endless straps or complicated procedures, and convenient belt holders keep the harness to the side so you can place the child in the seat. Just one pull makes any necessary adjustments. Additionally, the harness fits snugly over the shoulders, collarbone, and hips, and the four shoulder slots allow a better fit as your child grows. HUGS for Optimum Safety and Support When it comes to safety, the Regent boasts an innovative protective design and loads of extras that give parents peace of mind on car trips. First, the patented floating HUGS (Harness Ultra Guard) system exceeds U.S. safety standards by reducing forward head movement as it gently cushions the neck and chest with soft padding--a feature that's particularly important both in the case of an accident and during nap time. Made of expanded polystyrene (EPS) and extra thick comfort foam, this system better distributes the webbing loads, reducing head movement and minimizing harness irritation on baby's neck in case of an impact. HUGS also reduces the chance of improperly positioning the chest clip. Versa-Tether for Additional Security The Regent also offers Britax's patented Versa-Tether, an anchor aid that provides additional security in the forward facing position for children weighing more than 50 pounds. The Versa-Tether fastens the top of the car seat to factory installed automobile anchor points, reducing the possibility of a head injury in the event of impact. Comfort Features for an Enjoyable Ride Riding in the car should be fun and enjoyable for your child, and the Regent offers comfort features that help make even long trips a pleasure. First, two mesh pouches and cup holders keep snacks, drinks and toys close at hand. Secondly, the cushioning and plush padding are made to be incredibly supportive, so your child can play, sleep or simply look out the window without strain or discomfort. Weighing 25 pounds and measuring 21.5 x 30 x 25 inches (WxHxD), the Regent features a versatile, user-friendly design that will truly grow with your child. The Regent is also available in Onyx and Huntington, and comes with a 1-year limited warranty.

safe, easy to nap in December 31, 2008 C. Calkins (Dallas, TX USA) My two 1/2 year old outgrew his last seat (too tall for shoulder harness points), and I wanted a really safe seat that would last the remainder of his car-seat/booster years. It fits quite well in a 2008 Toyota Rav-4. The set-up was easy. It's a heavy seat, but we're not moving it from vehicle to vehicle. It is apparently as comfortable as it looks. My son naps quite well in this seat. He recently set a personal record with a 3-hour nap on a cross-country trip to see family. He actually looks comfortable while sleeping as opposed to his last seat in which he looked like a chiropractic ad while snoozing. I'm quite pleased with this purchase.
Great Seat! December 27, 2008 ditdwa (IL) I really love this seat! Of course it is rather large, but it is meant to fit "big kids." I have just ordered our third Regent today, because our 2 1/2 yr old has outgrown her Evenflo seat. We have two other Regents for our 6 and 4 yr olds. We have a Dodge Grand Caravan and the seats fit just fine. The kids always comment on how comfortable they are, especially on long car trips. I feel so much better knowing they are safer than the standard booster seat. My youngest is excited about getting her very own seat soon!
Fits in the Mini Clubman! December 11, 2008 David P. Welch Jr. We have a 2yr old and a large 4yr old. We originally bought the Britax Marathon when our 4yo outgrew her "bucket" infant car seat, and that was great, but when our 2yo outgrew his bucket, we decided to get the Regent for her and move him to the Marathon. It was the best decision for both safety and saving money in the long run. The Regent and the Marathon both fit fine in the back of the Mini, and the front seats are pushed back plenty far for any sized person in the front. If you do need to move the seat from one car to another frequently, I would not reccommend this seat because that would be a pain, but we have one in the mini van and the mini cooper so my rating does not apply for moving it from car to car. The grand parents cart our kids around as well as their cousins. I am here to buy a 3rd Regent (ouch cha ching) since they have a Marathon & Roundabout in their van and my son is approaching the max weight (40lbs) on the Roundabout and they need to cart more kids at one time as well! I like this seat because my daughter is happy in it, it is safe, and my kids will not outgrow it and be forced to use a less safe booster seat before they are ready/I am ready.
PERFECT! November 24, 2008 Jada Guillory (Nacogdoches, Texas) After doing my research and not feeling right about putting my 3 year old in a booster seat, I purchased this seat. He is sooo comfortable and has plenty of room to grow into this wonderful seat. After riding in a booster for 2 months, I thought I would have trouble getting him to ride in it. He was exciting about his "Super Big Boy Seat" and adores it. He also uses the mesh pockets as his cup holder and they work perfectly. Yes this seat is big but it fits perfectly in my Pacifica's captain seat. I have piece of mind knowing that my preschooler is safe. Bulk and heaviness is a small price to pay for your childs safety.
Morgan's Mommy November 17, 2008 Morgan's Mom I've been using the Regent for my daughter for something like 8 months, and we're completely satified. It sits low on the seat, so there's minimal leg hangover (which we didn't like on the Marathon once she got bigger), and she's fully comfortable no matter how long a trip we're taking. It's not too hard to install. I thought it would be after reading reviews, but it wasn't that bad. Like with the Marathon, I have to get in the seat to feel like it's secure when I'm using the Latch attachment, but at least it's a little bigger and therefore easier to get into. The one thing I don't love is how hard it is to get replacement covers. They're everywhere for the Marathon, but not for the Regent. Also, I think they're phasing out the Regent in favor of the Frontier (which we also have), which is a real shame.
