too many parts!! December 22, 2008 A. Allman (Maryland, USA) This is, in my baby's opinion, a very nice cup. He can drink from it just fine, and it doesn't leak which I like. But I've tried using other sippy's (Nuby and Playtex) and they don't leak either, so I don't consider that the greatest selling point ever. What bothers me about this cup is that it has TWO pieces to the valve, not to mention the ring, the spout, the cup, the handle, and the cap. When you don't have a dishwasher, you don't want to use this cup AT ALL. It's a pain in the neck! I really dont' think a sippy cup should be more complicated than a bottle to assemble. I bought two of these trainer cups because of all the nice reviews, but I'm going to return the one we haven't used. Oh, and addressing the "leaky" reviews, there are two types of Born Free sippy's- the Trainer Cup (says 6+ months on the label) and another sippy that says 9+ months on the label. The 9+ months one leaks, as it is meant to because it is preparing an older baby to use a "real" cup. And, sadly, real cups leak if you tip them over!!
My baby loves it! December 19, 2008 Pretty Fly Handle is perfect for the grip. My baby likes to play with this Trainer Cup. Of course he likes to drink milk out of it. Good Value.
They will leak eventually December 12, 2008 T. Massey 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The reviewers that say these cups don't leak must have left their review within a few days of recieving the cups. At first they are fine, but after a few weeks they will leak and leak a lot. I would have given this review 3 stars because they are nice cups, but after talking with someone in customer service they are lucky to get 2 stars. The woman from CS said they are suppose to leak and they make no statement about them being leak proof. Only that they are leak reistant, and that is when you put the cap on. I hate misleading advertisements.
excellent cup December 6, 2008 Edie E. Johnson This is a great sippy cup. We first tried Avent and Dr. Brown's. Dr. Brown's worked well for my son, but the plastic on the spout started to disintegrate and when I noticed it around his mouth after drinking, I threw it away. My son is now 19 months old and he drinks out of these cups better than any other. They were also great when he first started drinking out of a cup. The liquid does leak out of the spout a little when turned upside down. My son early on figured out how to press the spout onto a surface and get a lot of liquid out. Even though he gains great pleasure out of this messy trick, I highly recommend this cup.
A great cup that does not leak...and BPA free! November 23, 2008 M. Lee (Hidden Valley Lake, CA.) This is the cup for you! I did quite a bit of research on these cups before purchasing. I was a bit confused and had second thoughts about them after reading some reviewers complaints about leaking. These reviewers are mistaken. They need to take the time to properly read the instructions and insert all pieces. This sippy cup is a superior product. It has multiple pieces, that when assembled properly, form a natural vacuum. The vacuum allows my child to labor less and enjoy more... without spilling a drop! My 1 year old likes to tap and bang her cup on things. She has been able to create quite a mess with other cups. This item does not allow a single drop to leave, even after she removes it from her mouth and waves it in the air. Don't let the price or bogus reviews discourage you, this item is the one for you! PS-Amazon shipped two of them separately, charging me more and wasting lots of materials...shame on Amazon! Amazon, please re-think your shipping policies!
