Amazon.com Product Reviews

If you are looking for a rocker that will be useful beyond infancy, then you will want to try the Fisher-Price Newborn-to-Toddler rocker. Place your infant into the two-position reclining seat and strap into the padded three-point restraint and rock on. The rocker is low to the ground and has kickstands to make the seat stationary when feeding or sleeping. Swing the removable toy arm for a little entertainment; pull the plastic puppy for a tune or play with the uniquely-colored cat. The toy bird is also removable and can act as a rattle. If you tire of rocking baby, push the button for gentle vibration and watch them drift to sleep. Once the child is old enough, remove the toys and harness, and you have a toddler rocking chair. When folded, the rocker is fairly compact and portable, but still a bit bulky. The seat pad is removable and washable, and the vibration requires a D battery. Recommended age is birth and up with a maximum of 40 pounds. --Scott Teal

Product Description
The Newborn to Toddler Portable Rocker starts as a newborn seat or rocker with a low-profile position for a safe place to put newborns. With the softgoods recline, mom or dad can position baby for sleeping or for play. A removable toy bar arm provides two repositionable toys to entertain baby - a musical puppy and a kitty with a spinning ball of yarn. Both reward baby for bat-at play. There is even a cute birdie that stands on a biscuit on the side of the rocker and detaches for take-along play.

As baby becomes a toddler, the toy arm can be removed and the rocker supports extend to a higher position, allowing toddlers to have both a stationary seat and a rocker. The rocker also provides great on-the-go convenience -- just fold and compress it down for portability and using the struts as a handle. Weight capacity is 40 pounds. Measures 24"H x 17"W x 24"D.

5 out of 5 stars Great Rocker!!   November 25, 2008
Charlie's Mom (San Francisco, CA)
My 6 months old son loves this rocker! The adjustable reclining positions are great as well as attached musical toys. It's sturdy and well-made. Overall, it's a great rocker--I recommend it.

3 out of 5 stars Can be dangerous   October 16, 2008
I. de Armas (Miami, Fl)
My son is 12 months old and this toy is supposed to grow with him but I put him in it since I am supposed to keep him immobile. So I sat him in this rocker, strapped in. He leaned over just a little bit to reach for a toy on the floor and he was on the ground with the rocker on his back like a turtle shell. Now there is a kickstand option where it won't rock and I can test it out to see that he doesn't flip in it but not now while he has the fracture! However... considering that this toy is supposed to grow with your child it surprised me that this happen. Maybe I am wrong and should have not left it in rocker mode but the product doesn't say anything that I should not put him in it the way I did. I thought it was safe. I think I have enough commen sense to judge something like this (I hope so ) but he did flip over in it. Just wanted to warn any of you that may have this toy. I was in the room with Marcelo when this happen. I didn't just leave him there but it happen so fast and unexpectedly. He was fine and nothing happen but I am supposed to keep him safe so he doesn't snap that little fracture into two. A fall like that could have done it. But he is just fine. I may test it out with the kick stands (maybe not) but if I do it will be in a couple months when he is fully healed. Actually I really don't make him sit in it at all.... since he is so mobile crawling around. I just put him in it because I'm supposed to keep him from standing up and falling.
Anyway, I am ranting now but I just wanted to warn all of you about this product. I did call fisher-price and documented a formal complaint as well. They were very gracious and offered to take the product back and refund me full price but for now I said "no thank you" because I really loved this product and the idea that my daughter can use it too. However... I could take up their offer at any time.
I recommend this toy WITH CAUTION. It is a cool toy but best for babies that are not moving much and for toddlers that can sit in it and get up from it independently. Any age in between use with caution. I have had 3 mommy friends confirm that the same has happened to them; one of them her daughter was 6 months old. Being on the floor I doubt major injury can occur but if using it for that in-between age use with the non-rocker option and pull the little legs out.

4 out of 5 stars Adjusts to baby's needs   August 31, 2008
noellesumma (Bronx, New York)
Easy to clean, easy to maneuver. This chair is sometimes the only place my 3 month old daughter wants to sleep, from the time she first came home until now. She still loves it and the vibration is great and toy bar are great. I only wish the music lasted longer and that the toy on the side didn't pop out so easily.

5 out of 5 stars Soothes even my crabby baby!   August 26, 2008
Monique A. Mugg (West Olive, MI)
I bought this for my son when he was about 3 weeks old, he was crabby or colicky most of the time and I hoped that a bouncy seat might help me to get him to calm down so I could do housework and such. It quickly became his favorite napping spot, being on an incline seemed to help him sleep soundly. As he got older he liked to watch the toys and the vibrating soothed him. He is now 8 months old and he does not sit in the chair much now because he likes to crawl and hates to sit in one place for any length of time, but I know he will use it as he gets older, though he does play with the toys that were on the toy bar, they are detachable. Another plus is that the seat is machine washable. I would definitely buy this again and I am very happy with it.

5 out of 5 stars Really fits newborns and toddlers!   August 15, 2008
tayloradaly (Roanoke, VA USA)
My husband put this thing together while I was pregnant with my second child. My first son, who was three at the time, enjoyed sitting and relaxing in this rocker. Then his baby brother came along, we added the toy bar, and voila - instant chair for baby! He has used this thing from newborn to now, at eight months old. He's still entertained by the toys and loves the chicken rattle. This is a lightweight chair and it doesn't take up much room. The baby likes to sit in it to drink his bottle, and when he's not using it, his other brother takes it over. Definitely worth the money!
